The American University of Nigeria Recruitment for Software Project Manager

The American University of Nigeria, Yola, is seeking for Software Project Manager. This position is
a local one open to indigenous and/or legal residents of Nigeria.

Position Requirements:
•    The successful candidate should have a Degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field as well as five (5) years’ experience in software development and project management, including ERP implementations.
•    Experience working with higher education institutions is preferable.
•    An excellent understanding and experience of ERP software applications and tools.
•    Knowledge of IT best practices and methodologies.
•    Experience in Business Intelligence tools. Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities.

Other requirements, abilities for the position:
•    Ability to work as part of a team to achieve results within set deadlines.
•    Demonstrate an understanding of the issues relevant to ERP software modules as they affect various stakeholders, such as Finance, Admissions, Faculty, Students, HR, Logistics, Library, and Facilities Management.
•    Set and convey clear goals and monitor progress
•    Must possess the intellectual capacity to break down a problem or situation into its component parts, identifying implications, timeframes and sequences.
•    Attention to detail and someone who can take Initiative.
•    Ability to easily establish and build relationships with all stakeholders.
•    Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Software Project Manager works hand in hand with the Senior Director of Information Systems and the Software Development Team Lead in ensuring a smooth transition from Banner to the new ERP application. The position shall work with all units in the Department of Information Systems, as well as the various stakeholders within the university community, to ensure an effective and efficient handling of new software developments and user support.
