Job Description
The Secretary/Director of Administration shah be responsible to the Director General for the general ad ministration and finances of the National Institute. As the Head of the Directorate of Administration and Secretary to the Board of Governors of the Institute, he/she will oversee all administrative matters, advising, coordinating and supervising all the Departments and Units; serves as Chairman, Senior Staff Appointments, Promotions and Disciplinary Committee and will also be responsible to the Board of Governors of the Nation Institute.
Qualifications and Experience:
Candidates should possess a good Honours degree and an M.Sc/M.A. or a PhD. in any of the Social Sciences with vast experience in Administration in any of the Government Ministries, Departments, Agencies, Tertiary or Strategic institutional in Nigeria or abroad.
He/she must have risen to the rank of a Director (or has been a Deputy Registrar/Deputy Director for at least five years). Candidates must have national exposure with at least 20 years experience.
The position is for a single term of 5 years, nonrenewable, while candidates must be within the age bracket of 50 – 55 years.
Membership of the National Institute (mni) would be an advantage.

Candidates for the position of Senior Fellows must possess a Ph.D/MSc./MA. in the relevant fields preferably in Economics, Natural, Environmental, Agricultural, International Relations, Defence and Security, Peace and Strategic Studies and must have wide exposure in policy-oriented research.

The Director of Studies shall be responsible to the Director-General for organising and conducting the Senior Executive Course (SEC) of the National Institute. Candidates should be committed scholars in strategy, policy, history, economics, and international relations. Regardless of field of studies, prospective candidates must have sound understanding of public policy environment in Nigeria. The position is for a term of 2 years which may be renewed for another period of 2 years. Candidates must be within the age bracket of 50-65 years.
