The Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo was established in October, 1977 with the sole
mandate of training teachers for special needs education at the Primary and Secondary Levels of Education. The five-fold mission statements of the College are listed below:
Producing highly professional, competent and committed teachers for special needs education at the Primary and Secondary Levels of Education
Undertaking a thorough investigation through research into the peculiar needs of persons with special educational needs and the gifted and talented in the Nigerian Society.
Producing students with high level technological know-how that could enable them operate, maintain and repair specialized equipment and materials in special education.
Producing a body of young professionals ingrained with attitudes, values and interests compatible with the socio­economic environment of persons with special needs; and
Encouraging the training of serving teachers through part-time studies so as to upgrade their skills.

 
Job Title: Director, Medical Services
The Director of Medical as the Head of the College Medical Centre shall carry out the following duties among others:
Shall be responsible to the Provost for the overall control and supervision of the Medical Centre
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Provost

Qualifications
Candidate for the post must possess a good Honour Degree (M.B.BS) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution registered with the Nigerian Medical Council, plus at least 15 years post qualification cognate experience or a holder of a Post Graduate qualification in Medicine plus at least 12 years experience.
Candidate must have been a Chief Medical Officer in a College of Education or similar Higher institution with three (3) years satisfactory service.
Practical knowledge of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and membership of recognized Professional Bodies would be an added advantage.

Job Title: Director of Works and Services
The Director of Works and Services carries out the following duties among others:
Shall be responsible to the Provost for the overall control and supervision of the Works and Services Department.
Formulation of divisional strategies to achieve toe institutional goal.
Planning and controlling technical activities of the Works and Services Department.
Advising the Provost on the acquisition, operation and maintenance of all College assets.
Preparing the Works Division s budgetary controls.
Keeping an inventory of all College Vehicles and having responsibility for Its maintenance, security and up keep.
Performing other duties as may be assigned by the Provost

Qualifications

Candidate for the post must possess a good Honours Degree in Engineering from a recognized Institution of higher learning plus, at least 18 years cognate experience, or a holder of a Master Degree from a recognized Institution of higher learning, plus at least 15 years cognate experience.
Candidate must have been a Deputy Director, or its equivalent in a College of Education or similar Higher Institution with Three (3) years satisfactory service.
Cognate experience on the job from Tertiary institution(s) of learning along with a practical knowledge of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and membership of recognized Professional bodies with COREN etc. would be an added advantage.

Job Title: Bursar
The Bursar shall be the Chief Financial Officer of the College and shall be responsible to the Provost for the day to day administration and control of the financial affairs of the College.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a degree in Accounting with a minimum of Second Class Lower from a recognized Tertiary Institution as well as professionally recognized Accountancy qualifications of ICAN, ANAN etc.
Have a minimum of Eighteen (18) years cognate experience in an institution of higher learning or other sectors of the public service,
Candidates should have spent a minimum of Three (3) years on the position of Deputy Bursary
Be Computer literate with proven ability
Be morally sound, of impeccable character and high integrity, free from-financial embarrassment and enjoy good physical and mental health.
Be resourceful and full of initiatives
Possession of an MBA is an added advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service
These are as approved for the Federal College of Education and as may be modified from time to time by competent authorities. Appointees to positions advertised in (2) and (3) shall hold office for four (4) years, in the first instance, subject to re-appointment for one further term of four (4) years, based on satisfactory performance of duties. While appointee to position advertise in (1) shall hold office for Five (5) years in the first instance subject to re­appointment for one further term of Five (5) years based on satisfactory performance of duties
