Job Description
Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with
current and prospective customers in person and via telephone calls and
emails to generate new businesses for the organization’s
products/services.
Gather market and customer information.
Analyze the market’s potential and determine the value of existing and prospective customers’ value to the organization.
Supply management with oral and written reports on customer
needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for
new products and services.
Gain a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements.
Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
Create and manage a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities.
Make cold calls to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business.
Negotiate the terms of an agreement and close sales.
Conduct reviews on personal sales performance with the aim to meet or exceed targets.
Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market
conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends
through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with
marketing and technical service areas.
