Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) is a non-profit organization that promotes socio-economic development by supporting global health and economic initiatives in Nigeria. It was established as an affiliate of the Family Health International (FHJ360) to sustain FHI’s achievements
in strengthening indigenous organizational capacity in Nigeria. AHNi currently has its headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria.
The Reading and Numeracy Activity (RANA) is a 3-year UNICEF-funded early primary grades reading pilot project implemented in partnership with FHI 360 in collaboration with the governments of Katsina and Zamfara states. RANA aims to improve literacy and nwneracy for girls and boys in primary grades I -3 in the supported states. It will assist approximately 100 formal Schools and Integrated Qur’anic Schools (lQS) in each Of the states We are seeking qualified candidate for the following positions.

Job Title: The Human Resources Assistant

Location: Abuja

The Human Resources Assistant will work closely with the Snr HRO in the provision of operational support
to implement an effective, functional Human Resources process for the all AHNi projects in team functional areas, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation and HRIS.
Minimum, Recruitment Standards:
•             Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business/Public Administration or related field with 2-3 years work experience in the areas outlined.
•             Good understanding of Human Resources administrative principles.
•             Computer literate and proficient in the use of word processing, HR Software and spreadsheets.
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.

Job Title: The Contracts & Grants Assistant

Location: Edo
Experience: 3year(s)
Course of Study: Accounting

The Contracts & Grants Assistant Under the direction of the Senior Finance & Admin. Officer, the C&G
Assistant shall provide support in the administration and tracking of contracts, grants, task orders and
cooperative agreements as well as supporting the reviewing of sub-agreement and subcontracting
BA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 3 – 5 years relevant experience.
•             Master’s degree in Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 1 – 3 years relevant experience.
•             Good working knowledge of donor contract and grants regulations is essential.
•             Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage.

Job Title: The Program Officer

Location: Abuja
Experience: 1year(s)

The Program Officer Under the supervision of the Project Director, provide support to coordination of the
RANA HQ/State offices. H/She will support program planning, design, review and monitoring of the program
                in and implementation at the H< Stat 1 ,
Minimum Recruitment Standards:
BS/BA in education, behavioral sciences or its recognized equivalent with 5 – 7 years of relevant experience with international development programs.
•Or MSIMA degree in education, behavioral sciences or its recognized equivalent with 3 – 5 years relevant experience with international development programs.
• Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage.
The Driver Under the supervision of the Finance and Administrative Officer and supported by state FA&A, the
•driver shall provide a variety of transportation support to the RANA Project.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
Secondary school leaving certificates, apprentice certificate or any other equivalent certificates with a minimum of I-year experience.
Must have a trade test certificate and a valid driving license. Must have expert knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
Experience as a driver mechanic will be an added advantage. Experience with large complex organization preferred.

Job Title: The Literacy Coordinator

Location: Abuja
Experience: 3year(s)

The Literacy Coordinator will coordinate the Hausa Language reading materials content development for continuous professional development of early primary grade teachers with integrated numeracy and gender contents, in addition to this, S/he will be largely responsible for technical leadership of state-of-the-art early grade reading program, providing expertise in instruction, assessment, coaching, training and materials development.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
•             Bachelor’s degree in education with a concentration in early grade reading, literacy, language acquisition or related field. At least 3 years’ experience in education reform with a focus on primary education sector work in language acquisition and/or child literacy or reading especially in Hausa Language. Certification a’s reading/literacy specialist preferred.
•             Demonstrated ability to work with government, partners and/or local government structures and school settings.
•             Proven expertise in Hausa Language, early grade reading instruction, assessment and reading material development.
•             Significant experience in developing and producing of supplementary reading materials, workbooks, trainers’ and teachers’ guides and instructional materials to improve early grades reading.
•             Knowledge of reading & literacy programs in Northern Nigeria

Job Title: The Community Mobilization & Gender Specialist

Location: Abuja
Experience: 5year(s)

The Community Mobilization & Gender Specialist will be responsible for advocating for greater attention to gender perspectives, providing the necessary rationales and advice on approaches to support gender mainstreaming on the RANA Project. S/he will be responsible for integrating gender sensitive approaches to technical assistance, with sensitivity to promoting high level of collaboration, communication and cooperation with government facilities and mainstream gender into appropriate interventions.

Minimum Recruitment Standard:
•             Master’s Degree or equivalent in Education, Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology or related discipline with 5 years working experience in community mobilization and gender integration at the national or international level.
•             Expertise in community mobilization and gender analysis, strategic planning, and integrating gender balance into project design and management is desirable.
•             Experience in dealing with issues of gender mainstreaming in material development and within public institutions and/or international organizations required.
•             Hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects is essential.

Job Title: The Finance & Administrative Officer

Location: Zamfara
Experience: 3year(s)
Course of Study: Accounting

The Finance & Administrative Officer Under the direction of the State Team Leader, S/He shall assume responsibility for all state level administrative and accounting/finance responsibilities, alongside ensuring compliance with the contractual financial and administrative requirements of the organization.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
•             BSfBA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business (*%#administration or its recognized equivalent, and 3 – 5 years relevant experience. Or MS/MA degree in Accounting, Finance and Business

Administration or its recognized equivalent, and I – 3 years relevant experience.
Minimum ofl-3 years’ experience in accounting related to international development programs.

Familiarity with donor-funded programs and non-governmental organizations in Nigeria is an advantage. CPA, ACA, ICAN or recognized equivalent is an advantage. Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage

The State Team Leader will be responsible for the educational program plannining , implementation ,monitoring, and reporting of the reading interventions implemented by AHNi and the other RANA partners in the assigned States as well as overseeing strategic and day-to-day implementation of RA A activities in the State in accordance with the RAN A work plan.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:
Advance degree in Education or its recognized equivalent with 6 – 9 years of relevant experience I with international development programs. Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required. At least 5-8 years’ experience in education reform with a focus on primary education sector work in teacher education.

Demonstrated ability to work with government, partners and/or local government structures and schools’ settings. Proven expertise in Hausa language, early grade reading instruction and/or assessment and reading material development.

Significant experience in teacher training and support for the development and production of instructional materials, including but not limited to: effective teacher training modules, assessment and/or supplementary materials.
Demonstrated experience in coordination of training interventions, setting realistic priorities, and planning for the successful implementation of activities.
