Job Title: Safety Officer

Key tasks and Responsibilities

Responsible for all HSE related activities and assist in HSE related matters in the day to day operation
Actively follow up the work performed on the Unit, correct unsafe conditions and promote safe behavior

Responsible for planning of Marine Department maintenance activities in cooperation with OIM and other department leads; Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System. Review information in database to ensure it is technically valid, accurate and up to date
Responsible for first line and preventive maintenance of marine, cargo and relevant utility systems as per Computerised Maintenance Management System
Administer marine and cargo systems modifications requests under management of change procedure
Responsible for structural maintenance of deck areas, process modules, accommodation, enclosed and machinery spaces
Responsible for housekeeping of deck areas, accommodation and pump room
Responsible for scaffolding erection and dismantling; Responsible for all Lifting and personnel transfer operations and Lifting Equipment. Ensure lifting equipment register is up to date
Responsible for Support Vessel Handling; Responsible for Helicopter Operations, Helideck and refueling equipment; Responsible for Waste Management and Garbage Record Book entries
Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning
Responsible for control of hazardous substances that are used/ stored within Marine department
Responsible for the relevant Risk Assessments; Participate in the investigation of accidents and incidents. Administrate Company reporting system report
Ensure that vendors and contractors are managed safely and effectively
Undertake training relevant to the position requirements
Responsible for the training of subordinates and trainees; Perform competency assessment and performance evaluation of subordinates
Member of Emergency Response Team
Qualification requirements

Education

Minimum of WASC, SSCE certificate or GCE ‘O’ Levels; UK or South African Chief mate (II/2) CoC required
Experience

Employer requires 10 years experience as a watch keeping officer or marine supervisor on offshore facilities or marine vessels
Skills

Job Title: Marine Operator

Key tasks and Responsibilities

Operate, monitor and troubleshoot marine, cargo and relevant utility systems
Operate and monitor Operator Station and loading/ stability computer
Operate and monitor radio and navigation equipment (GMDSS, Radar/ ARPA, AIS, Gyro etc.)
Maintain deck watch
Monitor unit and export tanker positions
Perform cargo operations (loading/ offloading of crude oil, control of tank pressure, Crude Oil Washing, ballast and slop water transfer, sampling etc.)
Perform cargo and stress/ stability calculations; Ensure cargo plan is followed and stability/ stress parameters are within the allowable limits
Perform shuttle tanker mooring/ unmooring, hose and hawser operations
Operate and monitor metering system. Perform proving
Monitor Safety Zone and control traffic in vicinity
Monitor weather conditions; Monitor communications and CCTV
Assist in Helicopter operations; Control personnel transfer operations; Control supply vessel operations
Assist in tank entry preparations and safety arrangements; Monitor personnel working in the tanks
Assist in control of structural maintenance and housekeeping of the deck areas, accommodation, enclosed and machinery spaces. Ensure CR is kept tidy and in good order

Liaise with other departments for coordination of operation activities

Prepare required reports, keep logs and maintain appropriate documentation

Undertake training relevant to the position requirements; On-the-job-training of colleagues and trainees
