UBA National Essay Competition 2015

UBA Foundation,
the CSR arm of the United Bank for Africa, is pleased to announce the
commencement of the 2014 edition of the National Essay Competition
amongst senior secondary
school students in Nigeria. Winners will get
educational grants to study in any African University of
their choice.

The competition has been held annually since 2011 with students
challenged to write on different engaging topics to test their writing
and cognitive skills

Essay Competition Topic: “What matters most to you in life and why”

Entry Procedures and Rules

  • Applicants should send in hand written essay entries of not more than 750 words on the competition topic
  • Applicant must submit their complete contact information (Name
    and Address of school telephone number, residential and email addresses.
  • Applicants must attach photocopies of their original birth certificates or photocopies of international passport data page.
  • Applicant must be Senior Secondary school students schooling in Nigeria
  • The educational grant is only applicable to applicants who intent to study in Africa University
  • The decision of the Judge is final

Prizes
The three winning finalists, who will be selected by assessment in the
hands of notable Nigerian academics, will get educational grants to
study in African universities of their choice.

  • Winner – N1,000,000 or its local currency equivalent for tuition fees.
  • 1st runner-up – N750,000 or its local currency equivalent for tuition fees..
  • 2nd runner-up – N500,000 or its local currency equivalent for tuition fees.
  • Consolation prizes will be given to the finalists

  • Terms and conditions guiding the competition shall apply to all winners.
