Job description
An exciting role has opened for a Commercial Head
(Sales and Sponsorship – TV)

with a global broadcaster in Lagos, Nigeria – your experience within the Media industry in Nigeria
is non negotiable.

You will ultimately be responsible and accountable for the delivery on revenue targets for the Nigeria business through setting commercial strategies and ensuring execution thereof across emerging and existing platforms, through guiding marketing, advertising and sponsorship, affiliate sales, commercial digital media,communication and research. The ultimate focus of the role is to strengthen the business’ commercial position in Nigeria and ensure the growth of the company’s market share and brand awareness.

Requirements

Commercial strategy planning and implementation for Nigerian Office

§ Prepare commercial budgets and monitoring progress for all channels and projects.

§ Create local marketing and communication strategy and annual plans in conjunction with the Head of Marketing & Communications – Nigeria.

§ Monitor competitor activities and position in the market and adjust plans accordingly.

Development of local revenue channels

§ Secure the widest possible channel distribution across local available distribution platforms whilst simultaneously maximising revenues and yields

§ Secure alternative sources (such as sponsorships) for financing brand building and commercial activities

§ Create a fully integrated sales/360 deal offers (including Digital Media) for both current and potential clients.

Manage Relationships with external partners/service providers

§ Initiate and guard the relationship with the sales agency in order to maximise revenues and delivering results in line with financial projections and budgets.

§ Manage the relationship with sales agencies and supervise their delivery against targets

Manage Client relationships

§ Represent the business in the market, build client relationships and negotiating commercial deals with existing and new clients

§ Constantly search for new areas and prospective clients to maximise revenues and create new commercial opportunities

§ Maintain database of clients

Maintain an efficient commercial operation

§ Create commercial appropriate local procedures and standards, including pricing policies etc.

§ Keep up-to-date on the market and its terms and conditions to negotiate/re-negotiate commercial deals

§ Analyse the effectiveness of commercial projects

§ Work with the research function to support commercial strategies and activities

§ Supervise and develop the commercial department team members, guiding their activities and manage their performance
