Job Title: University Librarian

Location:
 Ede, Osun

Job Description 

  • The University Librarian is the Chief Library Officer of the University and is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the University Library and the co-ordination of the Library Services in the University.

Qualifications 

  • Candidate for the post of University Librarian must possess a good honors degree, plus professional qualification in librarianship.
  • Possession of a Ph.D and membership of a relevant professional body will be an advantage. Candidates must also show evidence of considerable scholarship and thorough understanding of the application of new technologies to library operations and services.
  • Computer literacy and application of ICT in library services is an essential requirement.
  • In addition, candidates must show sufficient evidence of contribution to knowledge through research and scholarly publications in reputable journals within and outside Nigeria; and competence in job planning, organization and ability to take initiatives to fast-track the development of a University Library to an international standard within a short period of time.
  • At least five (5) of the relevant years of experience must have been at top leadership position in a recognized University and must hae served as Deputy Librarian for at least three (3) years.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 
The successful applicant will be placed on consolidated salary with relevant fringe benefits and will equally enjoy the allowances normally attached to the position of Principal Officers in Nigerian Universities. The Librarian shall hold office for a period of four (4) years.



Job Title: Deputy Registrar

Location:
 Ede, Osun

The Candidate 

  • The Candidate shall be a person of high integrity and sound moral character with excellent interpersonal relations.
  • He/she must fully understand the complexity of University administration and must be able to effectively utilise his human resources to attain a world class administrative system
  • He/she must enjoy good physical and mental health and must be ICT compliant,
  • Candidate must be a person who will not be older than 50 years as at the time of application.
  • He/she must be able to instill confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of people.

Qualifications 

  • Candidate should possess a good Honours Degree not below Second Class Lower Division (2.2) from a reputable University
  • Postgraduate qualification i relevant field and membership of professional association as well as computer literacy will he added advantage.
  • Candidate must have been in a responsible management position preferably in the University or other institution of higher Iearning and must have served in the position of Principal Assistant Registrar but not less than four (4) years.
  • In addition, a candidate must be a registered member of at least one of the following professional bodies: ANUPA, NIM, CIPAN, FCAT etc.
  • The post-qualification experience must not be below eleven years.

Job Title: Vice-Chancellor

Job Description 

  • The Vice-chancellor is the Executive and Academic Head of the University. He/She is the Chief exponent of the educational mission of the University, the philosophy of education that undergirds this mission, the goals sought and the quality of performance that is required to attain these goals.
  • The Vice- Chancellor has specified authority to maintain the efficiency and good order of the University with singular restraint.
  • All the other Offices of the administration are responsible to him/her.
  • He/She is the ex-official Chairman of the Senate and is responsible for maintaining and promoting the efficiency and good order of the University. However, the administration of the University, as a whole is also governed by the policy decision of the Board of Trustees, Council, Senate and the advice’ emanating from the committee system.

Qualifications 

  • A prospective candidate for the position of Vice-Chancellorship must be a Ph.D degree holder in any of the following area of study: Liberal Arts, Humanities, Medicine, Sciences, Social Sciences or related disciplines.
  • He/She is expected to have rendered continuous service of at least seven(7) years in Senior Academic leadership/Administrative responsibility in the University system and should at least be a Professor of not less than 5 years in his/her academic discipline.
  • Candidates are therefore expected to be widely knowledgeable about the operation of the University system.

Requirements: 

  • Candidates are expected to be morally and spiritually sound, of impeccable character, high integrity, free from financial embarrassment and enjoy good physical and mental health.

Conditions of Service
The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a period of four (4) years, on such terms and conditions of service as may be specified in his/her letter of appointment. The remuneration and conditions of service are comparable to those of Vice-Chancellors in the Nigerian Universities and as may be determined by the Pro-Chancellor and Council from time to time.

Job Title: Registrar

Job Description 

  • The Registrar. is a Principal Officer and the Chief Administrative Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative work of the University except for financial matters, which fall within the purview of the Bursar.
  • The Registrar is also the Secretary to Council, Senate, Convocation and Congregation of the University.

The Candidate 

  • The candidate shall be a person of high integrity and strong moral character with excellent interpersonal relations.
  • The candidate must be able to instill confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of people.
  • The candidate must fully understand the complexity of a University system and must be able to effectively utilize its human resources to attain a world class administrative system. The candidate must be in good health, be ICT compliant.
  • In addition the Registrar must be able to demonstrate dynamism and wisdom when confronted with crisis or undesirable situations.
  • She/he must also be an achiever who should show exceptional abilities for institutional loyalty and networking with the outside world.

Qualifications 

  • Candidates must possess a good Honours degree and at least eight (8) years of post-qualification administrative and professional experience, with a minimum of five (5) years at the management level.
  • The candidate must not be at a level less than the equivalent of a Deputy Registrar of a recognized University.
  • Possession of a higher degree and membership of recognized professional bodies will be an added advantage.

  • A consolidated salary for University Registrar with NUC approved benefits and allowances as applicable to the Nigerian University system and other benefits and entitlements as approved by the Pro-Chancellor and Council from time to time. The Registrar shall hold office for a period of four (4) years



Job Title: Bursar

Location:
 Ede, Osun

Job Description 

  • The Bursar shall be the Chief Financial Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.

Qualifications 

  • Possess a good honors degree in Accounting from a recognized Tertiary institution.
  • Possess a professional recognized accounting qualification viz: ACA, ACCA, ACMA, ANAN, or the American equivalent.
  • Have had at least seven (7) years post qualification cognate experience in a recognized institution of higher learning, industry, commerce or other public and private sectors.
  • Be competent in:
    • Microsoft word processing
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Access
    • PowerPoint
  • Be morally and spiritually sound, of impeccable character and high integrity, free from financial embarrassment and enjoy good physical and mental health.

Conditions of Service 
The Bursar shall hold office for a period of four 4) years. The remuneration and conditions of service are comparable to post of Bursar in Nigerian Universities, and as may be determined by the Pro-Chancellor and Council from time to time.




Job Title: Director of Admissions

Job Description 

  • Attracts students to the university by directing admissions strategies; promoting the university nationally; directing staff.

Qualifications 

  • Director of Admissions must be a graduate of a recognized university. He must be a computer literate with an appreciable knowledge in, sales and marketing. It is an advantage for the candidate to have managerial and interpersonal skills and a desire to help people, since he would spend so much time guiding others.
  • Accomplishes admissions human resource strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies.
  • Evaluate the academic records of individuals who wish to attend the institution. They manage a staff of admissions officers and work in conjunction with other school administrators to develop admissions criteria, tests and policies.
  • Establishes admissions operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.
  • Develops admissions financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Promotes the university and attracts new students by maintaining working relationships with other university departments; working closely with churches, conferences, youth camps, alumnis and the corporate affairs department.
  • Maintaining continuing flow of quality applicants and transfers to the university by analyzing trends in enrollment and marketing activities, leading activities to continue programs that are effective; helping to modify programs; presenting new sales strategies for the university’s recruitment and admission activities.

Required Knowledge and Skills 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the planning, implementation and monitoring of budgets in an educational environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the rules, regulations and principles of the NUC, JAMB as well as other state and federal laws and regulations regarding admissions and records.
