Chemonics International seeks Technical Experts for an anticipated USAID-funded Nigeria Power Sector Project. The Technical Experts will work in partnership with USAID to increase electricity availability and access in Nigeria. 
They will be tasked with facilitating transactions and strengthening the enabling environment for private sector investment in the power sector. We are looking for people who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Job Title: Specialist, Engineer
Location:
 Nigeria
Duties 

  • Engineering assessment.
  • Design and costing of power projects.
  • Natural gas resource generation

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years international experience in power and other infrastructure development and mobilizing private finance for the energy sector.
  • Minimum 5 years experience adapting to public policy and regulatory reform in developing countries, Africa experience preferred.
  • Relevant university Degree in Business, Engineering, Public Policy, Development Economics, International Development or Energy related discipline; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Fluency in English required.





Job Title: Experienced Project Support Professional – Communications
Location:
 Nigeria
Qualification 

  • Candidate should possess relevant qualification.



Job Title: Off-Grid and Rural Electrification Specialist
Location:
 Nigeria
Duties 

  • Small-scale transactions, mini-grid development.
  • Solar market development.
  • Biomass and Biogas, small hydro.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years international experience in power and other infrastructure development and mobilizing private finance for the energy sector.
  • Minimum 5 years experience adapting to public policy and regulatory reform in developing countries, Africa experience preferred.
  • Relevant university Degree in Business, Engineering, Public Policy, Development Economics, International Development or Energy related discipline; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Fluency in English required.





Job Title: Regulatory Specialist
Location:
 Nigeria
Duties 

  • Regulatory policies and procedures for sector and economic regulation of power markets and service providers

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years international experience in power and other infrastructure development and mobilizing private finance for the energy sector.
  • Minimum 5 years experience adapting to public policy and regulatory reform in developing countries, Africa experience preferred.
  • Relevant university Degree in Business, Engineering, Public Policy, Development Economics, International Development or Energy related discipline; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Fluency in English required.





Job Title: Legal Specialist
Location:
 Nigeria
Duties 

  • Legal structuring and negotiation of private power projects and power purchase agreements.
  • Legal framework for private sector provision of infrastructure.
  • Structuring negotiation of regional power market agreements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years international experience in power and other infrastructure development and mobilizing private finance for the energy sector.
  • Minimum 5 years experience adapting to public policy and regulatory reform in developing countries, Africa experience preferred.
  • Relevant university Degree in Business, Engineering, Public Policy, Development Economics, International Development or Energy related discipline; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Fluency in English required.



Job Title: Specialist – Economist
Location:
 Nigeria
Duties 

  • Feasibility analysis of power projects
  • Tariff analysis and structuring

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years international experience in power and other infrastructure development and mobilizing private finance for the energy sector.
  • Minimum 5 years experience adapting to public policy and regulatory reform in developing countries, Africa experience preferred.
  • Relevant university Degree in Business, Engineering, Public Policy, Development Economics, International Development or Energy related discipline; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Fluency in English required.





Job Title: Finance Specialist
Location:
 Nigeria
Duties 

  • Financial analyst.
  • Financial assessment.
  • Modeling and structuring of privately financed power arrangement.
  • Tariff analysis and modeling.
  • Energy transaction support.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years international experience in power and other infrastructure development and mobilizing private finance for the energy sector.
  • Minimum 5 years experience adapting to public policy and regulatory reform in developing countries, Africa experience preferred.
  • Relevant university Degree in Business, Engineering, Public Policy, Development Economics, International Development or Energy related discipline; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Fluency in English required.
