Job Title: Development Manager, Real Estate Private Eq

The Development Manager (DM) is responsible for managing the development cycle of the firm’s real estate projects and investments from business case, through feasibility, project conception and planning to design development and delivery. His involvement is from inception or initiation stage of the investment process to project completion. He provides leadership and manages multi-professional team and processes needed to identify, conceive, plan, develop and deliver world class real estate assets that meet/exceed the firm’s return expectations.  The DM is the project interface with the client/investor, working closely with the project manager to deliver projects.

Functions

Key functions of the DM will therefore include but not limited to the following:

•           Provide leadership in the management of the development cycle and technical team;
•           Ensure that the commercial and technical aspects of the project are well integrated and fully realized;
•           Manage development risks to optimize outcomes;
•           Develop and manage relationships to ensure deal flow, funding and project delivery;
•           Assist with leasing and asset management;
•           Ensure that investments comply with the firm’s ESG Requirements and Standards
•           Carry out other related works assigned by the Director or Fund Manager

A good knowledge of Legal issues affecting the development process: land title and related matters, law of contract, contracts of appointment of consultants, leases, contracts with contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, performance bonds, guarantees, insurances, collateral warranties and so on will be required.

The DM will be required to have a minimum of 10 years requisite experience in real estate development and investment with a reputable international company with large portfolio of retail, commercial, industrial and mixed use developments. Deep knowledge of Nigeria’s real estate and financial markets will be an advantage

Qualifications

Degrees in Engineering, Real Estate Management, Architecture, Construction, Finance, Economics, Geography or related field with an MBA from reputable universities
