Job Title: Marine Operation Manager

Location: Lagos

Summary

  • The operation Manager will serve as the designated person ashore, with oversight for the day- to-day company operations, maintaining close working relationship with the relevant bodies, departments and persons in line with standard operations processes to ensure attainment of the company’s objectives.
Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering or related field of study.
  • 3-5 years’ experience preferable in the shipping and marine sector.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain oversight for all vessel charter and allied services.
  • Develop and implement work-flow processes with appropriate balance to productivity enhancement and cost optimization.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing & Supply department to ensure timely delivery of supplies, and that purchase requisitions are being tracked and expedited in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate efforts with the business development team to drive competitive seice solutions for various client in line with industry and international standard.
  • Maintain accurate records across all areas of company services and operations.
  • Co-ordinate the berthing and sailing of Vessels on behalf of company/Charterer.
  • Manage contractual agreements and execution activities, including bid preparation, selection and ongoing vendor management from evaluation to contract renewals.
  • Ensure company vessels, equipment and related assets are managed and operated in a safe, efficient and Em economical manner and in full compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.
  • Coordinate STS (Ship-to-Ship) transfer ops at offshore locations.
  • Co-ordinate Crew change for on-signers and off-signers.
  • Develop and build relationships with key maritime service providers
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies i.e. NIMASA and other authorized parties to ensure that minimum statutory standard clearances re met on all areas of operation.
  • Provide leading information and guidance to management on maritime strategy and positioning.
