Job Title: Software Engineer
Location: Lagos
Job Descriptions
Key elements of the role:
- Report to the IT Manager
- Execute full lifecycle software development
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code
- Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
- Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
- Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
- Document and maintain software functionality
- Tailor and deploy software tools, processes and metrics
- Comply with project plans and industry standards
- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
- Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
- Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
- Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed
- Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle
- Plan and execute projects using acceptable project management standards
Desired Skills & Experience
- B.Sc. degree in Computer Science or related qualification
- Hands on experience in designing interactive applications
- Ability to develop software in C#, VB and other selected languages
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL
- Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (HTML5, CSS, and Javascript, Python)
- Mastery in software engineering tools
- Hands on experience in IT projects implementation
- Familiarity with software development methodology and release processes
- Project management skills (PMI or Prince2)
- Must possess strong analytical skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office skills like Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience with Accounting Software Packages is an advantage
