Job Title: School Nurse
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Administers prescribed medications
- Maintains school health supplies
- Serves as a resource person on health issues.
- Serves as Resource person for staff development programs on health-related topics
- Screens and conducts health appraisals for students and staff.
- Provides follow-up medical evaluations on students as required.
- Corresponds with parents on health needs/status of children.
- Keeps adequate records of immunisations, health findings, and other relevant health data.
- Imparts knowledge of infant care and personal hygiene on children and staff.
- Ensures compliance with procedures, protocols and other instructions provided by the school Administrator.
- Liaises between school doctor and school authority
Qualifications
- A Diploma/Degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution.
- Must be a registered Nurse.
Requirements
- 3-5 years cognate experience
- Excellent communications skills,
- Must be a Female.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of medical disorders of children and the appropriate treatment.
- Considerable knowledge of child growth and development.
- Working knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in
- coordination with other health and social service agencies.
- Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services.
- Some knowledge of the school organization and the community served.
- Ability to identify sub-optimal growth and development and symptoms of diseases.
- Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between the school, local health agency, and other community resources.
- Ability to develop and maintain health records on students.
- Ability to develop positive working relationships with other school personnel.
