GreenGas LNG to Employ 3,500 Nigerians

Greenville Nigeria Limited, owners of GreenGas LNG facility in Rumuji, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, will employ up to 3,500 workers upon completion.

Revealing this while receiving Rivers State governor, Nyesorn Wike, at the facility, chairman of the company, Eddy Van Den Broeke said the project covers 42 hectares and that at present it has 80 workers daily at the project site.

Broeke said that on completion, 250 trucks will be loading from the facility while it will generate 150 megawatts of electricity to serve Rivers State and Nigeria.

He added that the gas produced at the facility will help produce 600 megawatts of electricity for the national grid.

“We are in Rivers State to form a partnership with the state government for necessary economic growth,” he said. Governor Wike, who led members of the Rivers State Executive Council and Rivers elder statesmen on a tour of the Ni 40 billion facility, the state was critical to any plan to revive the nation’s economy.

The governor said the project has already started generating employment for the state, noting that the cumulative effect of the completion of the project. would be an expansion of the economy of Rivers State.

He urged the people of Rumuji community to cooperate with the investors as they would benefit from the facility.
