Kaduna State University – The post of the University Librarian, Kaduna State University, Kaduna is presently vacant. In accordance with the provision of the Kaduna State University Law, the position is hereby advertised for interested persons to apply, Interested applicants are requested to note the following:

Job Title: University Librarian

Location: Kaduna

The Job

The University Librarian shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the provision of Library services in the University and its constituent Departments and Campuses
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates applying for the position of the University Librarian must possess the following:

PhD in Library Science or in Library arid Information Science.
Considerable academic publications
At least 15 years relevant working experience in a Tertiary institution, preferably in a recognized university
Be a registered member of the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN)
Conditions of Service

The appointment for the post of University Librarian will be for a single term of five years only.
Salary and allowances shall be as applicable to the post of University Librarian in Nigerian Public Universities and as may be defined by the State Government and University Council from time to time.
The candidate shall not be more than 60 years at the time of application.
Individuals who have served as University Librarians in any University in the past Eight (8) years or who are currently serving as University librarians need not apply.

Job Title: Bursar

Location: Kaduna

The Job

The Bursar shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor  for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates applying for the position of the Bursar must possess the following:

A good honours Degree in Accounting and/or professional qualification of: ICAN/ANAN/CAN/ACCA/ACMA
At least 15 years relevant working experience in a recognized institution of higher learning.
Conditions of Service

The appointment for the post of Bursar will be for a single term of five years only.
Salary and allowances shall be as applicable to the post of Bursar in Nigerian Public Universities and as may be defined by the State Government and University Council from time to time.
The candidate shall not be more than 60 years at the time of application.
Individuals who have served as Bursa in any University in the past Eight (8) years or who are currently serving as Bursar need not apply.

Job Title: Vice-ChancellorLocation:

Kaduna

The JobThe Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the University, ex-officio Chairman of the Senate and member of the Governing Council. Among his/her other functions, the Vice Chancellor shall:
Be competent at all times to advise the Council on any matter affecting the policy, finance, and administration of the University;
Be generally responsible to the Council for maintaining the efficiency and good order of the University, and ensuring the proper enforcement of the Laws, Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations of the University;
Be responsible for discipline in the University; and
Regulate the admission of students subject to the guidelines and procedures approved by the University Senate and other statutory bodies.
Qualifications Required
The candidate for the post of the Vice-Chancellor is required to possess the following qualities:

Be a highly distinguished academic with a PhD degree in a relevant discipline
Be a university teacher of the rank of Professor attained in a university of high reputation;
Be a person of very high academic standing and reputation in his/her discipline;
Be a successful scholar who is well rooted in the finest academic traditions.
Should be a person with wide contacts to advance the cause of the university;
Have had a wide academic and administrative experience at a reputable university and be capable of giving dynamic academic and administrative leadership;
Be able to engender both national and international respect, particularly in the academic world;
Possess the ability to create the much needed harmony between staff and students on the one hand and between members of the university community and the wider community on the other;
Be a person with a clear vision and capacity to pursue the continuous development of the University even under resource constraints;
Be prepared to demonstrate commitment to the University’s vision, mission and core values, as well as the pursuit of its strategic objectives;
Should be an individuals who, judging from their tract records, are likely to command the willing respect as well as loyalty of members of staff and students of the University
Be morally sound and of unassailable integrity;
Be someone who appreciates, and acts on merit and who will hot succumb to undue pressure;
Be a person who is not older than 65 years at the point of assumption of duty as Vice-Chancellor; and possess appreciable computing skills as well as the ability to embrace information and communications technology.
Conditions of Service

The Vice Chancellor shall serve for a single term of Five years.
The remuneration and other conditions of service shall be as obtained in the Nigerian University System and/or as approved by Council, from time to time.
