Our Client is a construction finishing, renovation and interior design firm committed to delivering quality services in a timely manner.

They are looking to hire a dynamic accountant with experience preferably in the construction/building sector.

Job Title: Senior Accountant

The ideal candidate would be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities by developing and implementing accounting principles, practices and procedures to aid in collecting, analysing, verifying and reporting of financial information. The candidate would also carry out both industrial & business trend analysis and make projections based on findings.

Desired Competencies & Experience
To be selected for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following competencies

Possession of a degree in Accounting/Finance discipline
3- 5 years’ experience in the construction/building sector
Professional qualification like ICAN/ACCA/CIMA
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
Good numerical & analytical skills
Problem solving & decision making skills
People management
Proficiency in Accounting software packages
Candidate must be proactive & self-motivated

If you interested in this position then you should be aware that your key responsibilities would include:

Financial Management

Study trends and set financial targets based on findings
Perform financial analysis to determine profitability of projects and the business in general
Closely monitor projects to ensure profitability
Prepare and present financial reports periodically
Accounting & Record Keeping

Monitor allocated budget for office maintenance
Maintains petty cash transactions and records receipt payments
Processes invoices and prepares payment  in line with established procedures
Inputs all transactions into an electronic  database or accounting software
Store invoices and other financial records in accurate folders
Project Support

Liaise with Project Manager to ensure that all projects are on track and concluded as at when due
Monitor project cost to ensure the team stays within budget

Ensure proper documentation, filing and update of all official documents and database
Schedule and facilitate weekly alignment meetings and periodic management meeting
Review and escalate/approve requisitions as required
Ensure all necessary control documents are signed before project commences
Generate employment/contract letters and confirmation letter for all new hires
Attend to all employee related issues including disciplinary actions, leave requests, etc.
Implement and update company policies, enforcing disciplinary actions where required
