Job for Head Teacher at a Reputable Nursery and Primary School in Ikoyi, Lagos

The Governors of a prominent and highly reputable Nursery and Primary school in lkoyi wish to appoint an outstanding candidate who has a proven track record of sustained improvement within the primary sector.

This person must demonstrate the qualities and passion that will enable the school with its pupils and staff to continue to flourish.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head Teacher

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

The successful candidates will be:

  • An exceptional leader who shares the ethos, values and vision for the future of the education of students in the 21st century;
  • Have had recent successful experiences as Head teacher or Deputy Head teacher level in a high performing environment;
  • An instructional leader of learning and teaching, with strong knowledge and understanding of the English National Curriculum and up-to-date experience of current initiatives. Someone who is passionate about learning and teaching and committed to motivate and inspire;
  • A reflective leader with the interpersonal skills to work collaboratively, and build capacity through delegation and accountability;
  • A compassionate, caring and approachable leader with a commitment to valuing and encouraging all members of staff;
  • A leader with the management skills to monitor the effectiveness and performance of all aspects of the Primary School;
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to high academic standards
  • Commitment to the well-being and pastoral care of children
  • A disciplinarian of Christian faith

Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate is likely to fit most, if not all, of the following profile:

  • The successful applicant will have appropriate teaching qualifications, a Degree (B.Ed or other) plus a PGCE etc;
  • A minimum of 5 years proven primary school leadership experience in a well-recognised dynamic school, and at least 15 years experience teaching the English National Curriculum.
  • A postgraduate degree in Education or Educational Management will be an advantage.
