 Legacy University, Okija, Anambra State is one of the eight private universities recently approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria with the view of increasing access to university education to all qualified individuals in the country promote quality tertiary education and engage in relevant research for national development Located in serene environment in Okija, Anambra State, the new university seeks to build a legacy of excellence in learning and research. It plans to commence academic activities within the first quarter of 2017, offering courses in Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Natural and Physical Sciences.

Job Title: Vice Chancellor

Location: Okija, Anambra


Responsibilities

  • The Vice Chancellor normally is the Chief Executive and Academic Head of the University, and is also the Chairman of Senate, Congregation and member of the Governing Council.
  • The Vice Chancellor shall exercise general supervision over the activities of the University and have general responsibilities to the Council for the maintenance of Law, Statutes and Regulations in the University by ensuring that Law, Statues and Regulations of the University are enforced and observed, among others.

Requirements

  • Applicants for the position of the Vice Chancellor, Legacy University,Okija, must be a distinguished scholar with outstanding academic and administrative records and must be a proven manager of human and material resources, Specifically, the candidate:
    • Must be a full Professor of not less than ten (10) years standing with the ability to provide dynamic academic and administrative leadership for the University and must have held sufficient academic and administrative positions ma similar institution:
    • Should be capable of working towards realizing the vision and mission of the University;
    • Should be able to attract research grants and complementary funds from local and international agencies, for the development of the University;
    • Should possess outstanding personal integrity in the management of funds and be able to deploy financial resources as appropriate in the context of strategic plans of the University;
    • Must demonstrate inter personal and team building skills and possess the ability to harness all component units and resources in building an enviable university system;
    • Should be an individual who judging from his/her track records is likely to earn the respect as well as loyalty of the members of staff,students and University community;
    • Should be in a position to ensure the enforcement of the University Law and Regulations;
    • Should have excellent and spoken communication skills;
    • Should be Information and Communication Technology (ICY) proficient;
    • Must be of excellent physical and mental health.
    • Must be computer literate

Tenure
The Vice Chancellor shall hold the office for a single term as applicable in similar institutions in the country.

Eligibility for Interview

The remuneration and conditions of service for the post of Vice Chancellor are as applicable in similar institutions in the country.

Job Title: Registrar

Location: Okija, Anambra


Responsibilities

  • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the day to day administration of the University, the Registrar by virtue of the office is the Secretary to the Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation.

Requirements

  • The candidate for the post of Registrar must possess a honors degree from a recognized University, with at least fifteen (15) years relevant post qualification experience iii a similar institution, Possession of higher degrees, professional qualifications and membership of professional bodies will be an added advantage. The candidate in addition should:
    • Currently not below the rank of Deputy Registrar;
    • Show demonstrable evidence of consummate management and leadership skills; passion and drive in previous positions. In addition, must possess excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skits;
    • Exhibit the ability to be a team leader, has good mentorship skills and plans;
    • Enjoy good physical and mental health;
    • Possess outstanding personal integrity, demonstrate transparency in private and public life, be able to command the respect and loyalty of staff, students and members of the University community;
    • Be computer literate and have a good working understanding of communication by Internet;
    • Must have a good working understanding of current administrative principles, processes and practices.
    • Must be computer literate

Terms and Conditions of Service
The Registrar should hold office for a single term as applicable to similar institutions in Nigeria and the conditions of service will be as applicable to similar institutions in Nigeria. This will however be specified in the letter of appointment.
