Development Exchange Centre (DEC) is a Non-Government, Nonreligious and a Membership Organization that provides social and microfinance services to women groups, communities and NGO’s in Nigeria to enhance their Capacity for sustainable development.


DEC Is working with International Partners CBO’s and government agencies In the area of Microfinance, Health, Nutrition, Education, Governance and Peace building and Economic Empowerment.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Microfinance 
Location: Bauchi

Job Descriptions

  • DEC seeks to employ a qualified and experienced person into the position of the head of Microfinance who will be responsible to effectively coordinate, design/initiate and, Implement programmes, provide financial management, business planning and development, fund raising and strategic partnership management.
  • He will be working closer with the Executive Director, contributing to policy development and act as liaison with both local and international partners on behalf of the organisation.
Qualification Required

  • The candidate must possess a Bachelor Degree or Masters Degree in Micro finance, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business or relevant field,
  • Possession of professional certificate in microfinance or banking will be an advantage.
  • The candidate must also have prior experience of at least ten years of management in Micro finance and or finance related experience.
  • The person should be team player with excellent communication skills, self motivated, target driven, objective oriented and demonstrate record of results of achievement,
  • He/She should have working knowledge of English written and oral form arid computer skills such as MS word, Excel, PowerPoint Project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and develop microfinance products and services
  • Responsible for the coordination and overall management of the DEC micro Finance Programme and assuring full Integration with other activities of the organisation and implement cross strengthening activities in regards to microfinance
  • Responsible for developing and maintain and strengthening relationships with MFtS, AMFIN, RUFIN, ANT, CaN relevant international and local ministries and department of government agencies
  • Develop strategy and work plan for the microfinance department in consultations with relevant stakeholders.
  • Promote and market microfinance program to all stakeholders,
  • Develop evaluation tools to measure effectiveness and efficiency of the microfinance programme.
  • Support diverse strengthening activities In for microfinance including forums, focus on compliance and internal audit and forum on women in finance.
  • Prepare reports for presentations to the Director and Board of Directors of the organization.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Board of Directors, Management and other financial institutions (NFl’s)
  • He/She will report to the Executive Director of the organization and carry out related task as per the direction of the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for the overall Financial and budgetary management
  • Responsible for Business Planning and Development
  • Management Information System
  • Participant in Fund Raising
  • Ensure measuring of performance of branches and provide updates to the Board through the ED on regular basis.
  • Organise midyear reviews and performance evaluation of projects.
