Job Title: Branch Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY:     Responsible for accounting and benefits administration.
LOCATION                     UYO
RESPONSIBLE TO:             Chief Financial and Operating Officer
RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Review payables and receivables for accuracy;
Serve as liaison between branch and funding sources regarding billing issues;
Manage accounts payable and communications with vendors;
Process accounts payable weekly;
General

Prepare monthly budget reports for clinical programs;
Prepare and assist with annual audit;
Maintain manual and automated accounting records;
Enter accounting data into the computerized system to update and maintain this system;
Maintain procedural requirements to facilitate entering and processing data in the computerized system;
Assist in preparation of various monthly, quarterly and year-end reports to State and Federal agencies;
1Maintain fixed assets list and depreciation schedule;
1Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts;
1Responsible for journal entries relating to daily operations and month/quarter/year end closing;
1Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Financial and Operating Officer
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Attention to detail and strong critical-thinking skills;
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field;
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures;
2+ years of full cycle accounting;
Effective language, punctuation, spelling and communication skills;
Ability to type 40 – 60  words per minute;
Computer skills with knowledge of various software including but not limited to, data bases; spreadsheets, and word processors;
Ability to use sense of hearing for telephone contact with employees and vendors;
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain customer and employee confidentiality;
Ability to work within the framework of a management team.

Our client is a firm in the oil sector. They are a group of company which provides innovative and cost savings solutions to oil and gas industry. They are specialized in drilling, and measurements, well engineering, project management, and reservoir exploration and development.

They have established a modern magazine that will focus on energy and power, and in need of an Editor in chief,

The primary duties of the Editor-in-Chief are to maintain contact with and report to board of directors ; represent the firm at editor’s events as able; send out the call for articles; communicate  with  the  contributors  and  editors;  find  and  communicate  with  an  art  editor  and  an illustrator; edit the texts and the journal and carry the final responsibility for the publication, thematic coherence and political correctness of the journal, in accordance with the editorial policy of the company

Responsibilities

Making article selection decisions based on the reviews and votes of the Editorial Board and other reviewers;
Final-editing of all accepted articles and requesting final approval from authors (if needed);
Preparing the final articles for layout and reviewing the page proofs of the layout. Cross checking the facts, spellings, grammar, writing style;
Setting and enforcing deadlines for the editorial team; collecting opinions and announcing results;
Acting as official representative for the company as needed.
Responding to all company’s correspondence, forwarding correspondence as needed; maintaining the Editorial Board mailing list;
Maintaining contact with authors about the status of their submission;
Checks stories for legal and ethical concerns and consults publications intern on questionable items; Communicates regularly with publications intern, art editor and technical editor to discuss progress, needs, problems, evaluations, etc;
Developing new initiatives, making recommendations to the board of directors concerning improvements and changes of the magazine.

Qualification:

Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ work experience in a similar role. BSc (Hons) or Masters in a related discipline
