We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Fish Farm Manager
Location: Benin-City
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Candidate must possess first degree in Fisheries & other related courses
- 5 – 10 years hands on experience in production, management, marketing & business development in fish production
- Must be aware of different water management techniques
- Must be a seasoned fish farmer, adapting to new technologies as they develop, putting learning into practical skills
- Must possess stock skills such as fish handling, grading and harvesting
- Knowledge of hatchery
- Superb Oral communication skills
- Strong analytical, research and business management
- Excellent administrative skills
- Excellent IT skills
- Ability to work under no supervision, good team player, must be assertive, focused and confident
- Must pay close attention to detail in order to avoid expensive fish losses
Responsibilities
- Manage fish habitats Feed stock Involved in breeding and rearing of fishes
- Maintain farm equipment and cages
- Understand legislation and how to implement this into practical application
- Ensure water supply is of sufficient quaty for the stock
- Update knowledge of fish health and nutrition
- Maintain records of stocks
- Monitor the health of the fish and treat them when appropriate
- Plan Fish breeding programs and growing schedules to obtain maximum efficiency
- Adhere to environmental standards
