Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Reporting to: Area Manager – Southern Africa

Job Purpose

  • Securing the functional efficiency of the filling machine lines at customer site, considering the commercial conditions

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate solid knowledge & understanding how related items work, as well as how to use different related tools. (e.g. Pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics, electro-mechanics, automation, instrumentation, controls,  tools)
  • Realization of inspections, repairs, preventive maintenances or trouble-shooting at customer site.
  • Preparation of technical reports and record any customer complaints and forwarding to the responsible department.
  • Support of the customer staff regarding technical problems.
  • Ordering of spare parts when required with customer approval.
  • Installation of modifications when required.
  • Leading of the personnel at the site when required.
  • As required installation of filling line.

Qualifications

  • Required work experience and skills:
  • Must have strong customer service skills, be willing to travel.
  • Proven record in Field Service and Customer Contacts.

Required Educational Qualifications:

  • Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Degree with 3+ years’ experience Aseptic Industry and/or Food strongly or in  past packaging industry experience
  • OR minimum NPC3 with a qualified trade with 5+ years of packaging industry experience a necessary. PLC Programming is a desirable.

Age Range:

  • 27 – 37

Language Required:

  • Proficiency in written & Verbal English is a must.
  • Local Language is a plus.

Job Title: Area Manager, West Africa & East Africa

Reporting to: Head of Cluster – Sub Sahara Africa

Job Purpose

  • Be responsible for all aspects of the business in his territory (Sales, Marketing and Technical Service).
  • Identify and realize market opportunities for the Combibloc System business (filling lines, packaging material and services) in his territory.

The Primary Roles Are:

  • To build and maintain strong customer relationships for the benefit of both
  • To propose action plans to Management that delivers the Company strategy and objectives as defined in OPLA and Budget Reviews
  • To execute the action plans after obtaining Management approval and report timely on challenges, opportunities and results and if needed propose corrections to action plans.
  • To comply with Empowerment framework and build and maintain the company brand by maintaining high ethical standards
  • To manage the office for all legal, manpower, tax… issues in accordance with the local law and company approved policies

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage and maintain fully functioning organization and operational office. This includes evaluating current staff skill level and taking necessary HR actions to raise the standard.
  • Establish and oversee implementation of key account plans.
  • Chair monthly meetings with the service, production, quality personnel to ensure programs are in place on time.
  • Develop long-term strategic plan in cooperation with the Cluster Head.
  • Visit customers regularly to ensure their needs are being met.
  • Resolve outstanding commercial and technical issues, develop SIG Combibloc Obeikan’s value proposition, and build strong professional working relationships to gain customer loyalty.

  • Establish periodical sales forecasts on customer sleeve orders and ensure these are accurate.
  • Secure that technical performance and filling machine utilization of all installed equipment is constantly monitored and corrective actions are initiated, if required.
  • Conduct customer satisfaction program and determine our performance level against customer expectations.
  • Develop plans and take the necessary action with the support of the other team members to ensure customer satisfaction levels are achieved.
  • Arrange for periodic technical and commercial updates to the customer on industry developments with the aim of ensuring better fill performance and cost savings.
  • Seek out new market opportunities and develop them against competitive packing materials and companies to increase line utilization and market share.
  • Maintain accurate records of all pricings, sales, marketing and technical reports

Qualifications

  • Required work experience and skills:
  • Essential: minimum 5 to 7 years in the Sales Department of a Multinational Organization
  • Desired: experience in the packaging industry on Managerial level

Required educational qualifications:

  • Essential: Degree in Technical or Business curriculum
  • Desired: MSc, MBA

Languages:

  • English / French
  • Arabic / German would be an advantage.

  • Committed to delivering on time in full on objectives and activities
  • Good understanding of the value chain for dairy and beverage industry and FMCG
