Job Title: Stabilization Care Officer

Location: Dutse, Jigawa

Job Summary

  • The Stabilization Care Officer will be based in Dutse, Jigawa State and will be reporting to the State Technical Advisor. He/she will be in charge of coordination between different departments and authorities i.e. partners, local government areas, state ministry of health and hospitals.
  • The Stabilization Care Officer will also be in charge of building the capacity of the ministry of health staff in state local government levels on CMAM In-Patient care. He/she will work closely with the health workers in hospitals, health facilities and Action Against Hunger team for an effective follow up on children discharged from the hospitals to the health facilities for better continuation of the CMAM treatment. 
  • He/she will also conduct regular monitoring and supervisions in the respective hospitals in order to ensure the quality of the CMAM In-Patient services.

Requirements
The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a major in Nursing, medical related or primary health care.
  • Minimum of one year experience in CMAM programing and inpatient nutrition.
  • Proficient training in adult education/learning.
  • The ability to adhere to medical codes of conduct, patient confidentiality and child protection.
  • High level of self-discipline, time management, self-motivation and transparency.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervisions and meet deadlines of program objectives.
  • Adequate coaching/mentoring and report writing skills.
  • The ability to network effectively with local representatives of international aid organizations for exchange of information.
  • Good interpersonal skills (communication, community participation approach, team player).
  • Experience in working in Northern Nigeria and well integrated into local community.
  • Commitment to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and Hausa.

Job Title: Deputy Safety and Security Manager

Location: Maiduguri, Borno

Job Summary

  • The Deputy Safety and Security Manager is the second focal point of contact for all relevant security information within Action Against Hunger bases in Northern Nigeria (specifically for Borno, Jigawa and Yobe states).
  • He/she supports the national safety and security manager, northern Nigeria and also provides support to the Field Coordinators in Damaturu and Dutse.
  • He/she will serve as an advisor for daily operational planning of safety and security for all staff and programs in Northern Nigeria.
  • The position will be based in Action Against Hunger. Maiduguri Office with regular trips to Damaturu and Dutse office based on Action Against Hunger security policies.

Requirements
The successful candidate will;

  • Support the Field Coordinators in ensuring the safety and security of all Action Against Hunger staff, location, and assets.
  • Be required to represent Action Against Hunger, its mandate and activities with external actors and also participate in humanitarian, governmental safety and security forums as appropriate.
  • Ensure that Action Against Hunger staff and operations (Borno, Yobe and Jigawa state-wide) apply the Action Against Hunger Mandate, Charter and Code of Conduct, as well as safety and security operational policies, procedures and regulations.  
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three years’ experience within safety and security setting.
  • Be Fluent in speaking/reading/writing in English, Kanuri and Hausa languages.
  • Have excellent writing skills and in-depth knowledge of security operations.
  • Have the ability to work independently and write short coherent reports on relevant security topics.
  • Have current network with influential actors in Jigawa, Yobe and Borno state (e.g. on security, political, social, cultural, religious level).
  • Expertise on political and security situation in Jigawa, Yobe and Borno state.
  • Have been based in Jigawa, Yobe and/or Borno state for over five years.
  • Have experience within the humanitarian sector including dealings with safety and security threats.
  • Previous management experience, including management of multiple teams/departments.
  • Have basic experience in Nigerian security forces (Military and/or Police) preferably.

Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Location: Dutse, Jigawa

 Job Summary

  • The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be primarily responsible for data gathering, collation and reporting activities to ensure the quality and accountability of the programs implemented by Action Against Hunger in Northern Nigeria.
  • Under the direction of the Monitoring and Evaluation Deputy Program Manager and in collaboration with the Project Manager, the M&E Officer will develop and implement clear and practical M&E plans for the program by ensuring that program indicators, monitoring formats, databases, data analysis, and reporting are maintained and harmonized. 
  • He/she will also track progress of key indicators and provide timely report to his/her manager.

Requirements
The successful candidate will have;

  • A Degree in Economics, International Development, Statistics, Public Health, Demography or related subject, with previous experience working in humanitarian projects.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in the Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability of humanitarian or development programs.
  • The ability to represent Action Against Hunger externally in relevant forums and working groups at state level.
  • Proficient and demonstrated knowledge of M&E concepts and international humanitarian quality standards.
  • Experience of mobile data collection, collation, statistical analysis, participatory fieldwork methodologies and report writing.
  • Experience in community development programming, preferably in nutrition, food security, livelihoods or WASH.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, Sphere standard, SPSS, SPHINX, or other statistical packages.
  • Excellent team, budget, project management and representation competencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
  • Commitment to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
