Job Title: GM, Supply Chain Management & Procurement

Role Summary
The successful candidate will create supply chain management strategies that will increase business efficiency, S/He will also plan and coordinate the procurement process; developing a strategy to ensure the company secures the best products and services, Analysing sales patterns and inventory levels of existing stock, and staying up-to- date on market changes that can affect the supply and prices of goods/services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform all procurement and contracting activities including pre-qualification, tender management, negotiation and management of contract payments.
Responsible for sourcing for new contractors and conduct regular market surveys to benchmark prices.
Responsible to negotiate and close contracts on behalf of the organization
Perform cost and scenario analysis and set appropriate benchmarks
Estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques.
Develop partnership strategies with Vendors
Develop an organisation's purchasing strategy
Maintain updated contract database including information about suppliers’ products, prices, contract sum, duration of contract etc.
Coordinate clearing and forwarding activities including logistics and warehousing
Responsible for efficient purchasing of inventory, supplies and capital equipment for the company. Receives purchase requisitions and verifies for accuracy and authorization(s).
Establishes and executes procedures for procurement policy.
Prepares and issues purchase orders; determines and negotiates prices, delivery and credit terms; buys according to established company policies and procedures; maintains accurate purchasing records.
Responsible for evaluating, assessing and selecting vendors based on capabilities, performance and consistent quality assurance. Maintains rapport and good working relationships with vendors; keeps accurate vendor records.
Evaluates inventory reorder levels and quantity price breaks to determine most economical purchasing of inventory and supplies
Prepares monthly reports and reviews forecast of purchasing commitments with relevant authorities.
Expedites purchase orders as necessary and ensures delivery of purchased items for uninterrupted business process flow.
Performs other purchasing or inventory control duties as necessary or as requested.
Prepare contracts in collaboration with relevant departments.
Administrate, coordinate and cooperatively work with other departments, to resolve all issues relevant to the suppliers and vendors.
Analyse and strive to maintain up-to- date knowledge of market trends, pricing, availability, and capacity, technology and supplier capability relative to the product or parts assigned.
Ensures that a proper inventory control system is in place to carefully monitor stock positions, reorder levels & obsolescence of stock
Supervises the daily requisitions from end user and checks the status of item requested.
Keep stock on hand in order to minimize purchases.
Ensures that adequate stocks of key components are maintained in the stores to ensure there is no downtime in operational activity due to lack of stock/spares
QUALIFICATION/MINIMUM REQUIRMENT STANDARD

Masters degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
First degree in Engineering or Social Sciences.
At least 15 years work experience with not less than five (5) years in management role, designing and managing Company procurement processes.
Strong professional experience in technical logistics of interacting with both local and international vendors and suppliers knowledge of procurement and logistics practice
Experience within the Telecom Industry is a key requirement.
Experienced in clearing and forwarding of equipment
