 Job Title: Nutrition CMAM Officer
Location: Damasak, Borno
Job Type: Full Time
Job Summary
  • The Nutrition officer will be based in Damasak, Borno State and will work under the direct supervision of the Nutrition Deputy Project Manager.
  • He/she will play a key role in the implementation of community health groups (CHGs) within the community for each health facility targeted by the CMAM component.
  • He/she will conduct health capacity assessments and also ensure the functionality and linkage between community nutritional screening and health facilities.
  • The Nutrition Officer is also required to represent Action Against Hunger program within the communities.
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
  • Have a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Nutrition, Nursing or related field. Higher level Degree preferred.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years working experience within humanitarian contexts, with at least 1 year in conflict/insecure contexts including community mobilization.
  • Be able and willing to frequently travel to villages and stay at the field.
  • Have the capacity to supervise and coach health workers.
  • Be professional, motivated, flexible and culturally sensitive.
  • Possess excellent team, budget, project management and representation competencies.

Job Title: Human Resources Assistant

Job Summary
  • The Human Resource Assistant will be based in Damasak, Borno state and work under the supervision of the Human Resource Officer.
  • The Human Resource Assistant will provide support to the Human Resource Department in developing and maintaining a filing system as well as maintaining office policies and procedures. He/she will track and maintain all purchase requests made at the base.
  • The Human Resource Assistant will also maintain a proper record of all training and performance in the base.
Requirements
The successful candidate will;
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in fields related to HR, Administration and Management or equivalent year of experience with a minimum of 1 year experience working in HR/administrative support positions.
  • Have knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.

Job Title: Finance Assistant

Job Summary
  • The Finance assistant will be based in Damasak, Borno State and support the Finance Officer in managing cash flow and base account.
  • He/she will also ensure compliance with purchasing procedures, respect of supply chain guidelines and payment mode.
  • The Finance Assistant will also assist the Base Finance Officer in the management and administration of the cash transfer program.
  • He/she will be in charge of filing and archiving financial related documents.
Requirements

Job Summary
  • The Public Health Promotion (PHP) Assistant will be based in Nangere, Yobe State and work under the supervision of the Public Health Promotion Officer.
  • The PHP Assistant will work closely with the PHP Officer in health promotion activities within the community such as context assessment and developing materials for hygiene promotion.
  • He/she will promote safe hygiene and mobilize members of the beneficiary communities, participate in registering beneficiaries as well as distribution of Non-Food Items (NFI) kits to registered beneficiaries.

  • The Community Mobilization Assistant (CMA) will be based in Nangere, Yobe state and report to the Public Health Promotion (PHP) Officer.
  • The CMA will be responsible for training and identification of key community members.
  • The panel of activities include; continuous on the job training for community volunteers regarding Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices, overseeing the formation and selection of Fathers Care Groups (FCGs), providing support to the implementation of Food Security and Livelihood as well as nutrition activities within the community.

  • The WASH Technical assistant will work under the supervision of the WASH Technical Officer and be based in Nangere, Yobe State.
  • He/she will support the supervision of water and sanitation activities, prepare and conduct relevant technical training to communities.
  • The WASH Technical Assistant will provide full support to WASH technical officer in training and building the capacity of stakeholders.

Job Summary
  • The Warehouse Assistant will be based in Damasak, Borno State and report to the Base Logistics Assistant. He/she will be responsible for the management of shipment and cargo for the mission.
  • He/she will participate in the monitoring of stock utilization and store management.
  • The Warehouse Assistant will also manage storage conditions.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have;
  • A minimum of High School Certificate with professional experience in stock management.
  • Sound knowledge of general storage procedures.
  • Good knowledge of computer packages excel and word.

Job Summary
  • The Nutrition Project Manager will be based in Maiduguri, Borno State and report to the Field Coordinator.
  • The Nutrition Project Manager will focus on contributing to the definition and implementation of Action Against Hunger policies, positioning and strategies of health and nutrition department in the mission.
  • He/she will manage, supervise and train the program team. This is a technical specialist position expected to support technical implementation of Action Against Hunger’s nutrition & health program in Yobe.
  • The role will involve supporting health facilities clinics as well as basic health care and nutritional treatment.
  • The Nutrition Project Manager will be the focal point in providing technical support and recommendations on program implementation at all stages of the project cycle and ensuring quality of services delivered, ensuring compliance with Action Against Hunger protocols and national guidelines.
  • He/she will work closely with the Grant manager and other sector managers (e.g. FSL, WASH, M&E etc.) to ensure project objectives are achieved; as well as with the Logistics, HR, and Finance departments when required.
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
  • Have at least a Degree in Health/Nutrition related field with experience in Emergency Health and Nutrition Intervention. A postgraduate Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Have effective organisational skills to represent the mission at various level.

  • He/she will support the IYCF Officer in providing personalized IYCF counselling sessions to pregnant women for the preparation of breastfeeding and colostrum feeding and all mothers with children under 24 months.
