Job Description
  • We are looking for a Typist to perform typing and word processing tasks for our esteemed clients.The typists would work in shifts  the morning shift, the afternoon shift and the evening shifts.
  • A successful Typist is responsible for typing client documents and material, including reports, correspondence and policies.
  • If you can type fast and accurately and can check documents for grammar, spelling and punctuation errors under tight deadlines, we’d like to meet you.
  • For this role, it’s essential to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.Ultimately, you should be able to ensure clients documents are accurate, updated and saved for future references.
Requirements
  • Proven ability to type 50 WPM.
  • Demonstrate ability to handle high volume typing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use computer software packages, including word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Discretion: Much of the work you will be dealing with will be confidential.
  • Transferring data from paper formats into digital files or database systems.
  • Gather and organize typing material.
  • Create spreadsheets and presentations, combining various data from existing files.
  • Type correspondence, reports, text and other written material from rough drafts, corrected copies, voice recordings, dictation or previous versions, using a computer, word processor, or typewriter.
  • File and store completed documents on computer hard drive or disk, and/or maintain a computer filing system to store, retrieve, update and delete documents.
  • Taking notes and creating detailed texts.
  • Type out documents from dictated tapes.
  • Adjust settings for format, page layout, line spacing, and other style requirements.
  • Transmit work electronically to other locations.
  • Work with technical material, preparing statistical reports, planning and typing statistical tables, and combining and rearranging material from different sources.
  • Use data entry devices, such as optical scanners, to input data into computers for revision or editing.
  • Type out stereotyped notes of court proceedings.
