- Improve engineering processes especially through testing, monitoring and alerting
- Debug production issues across all products
- Participate in code, design and production-readiness reviews
- Work with our partners to provide new payment services to the market
- Work with the business, sales and customer success teams to ensure that our users have the best possible experience on our platform.

Your Experience
- Have 3+ years work experience in a software design and development role
- Have experience working with payments systems in Africa
- Have working knowledge of Node.js and Github for content management
- Have working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
- Have previously worked at fast-growing internet startups (preferred)

- We are looking for a Product Manager to work with the engineering team in building and maintaining innovative product solutions for our users while nurturing the collaboration among the engineering, design, customer success, sales and business teams.

- Maintain deep knowledge of user requirements, competitive landscape and market needs
- Implement processes and tools to track and communicate product progress and user requests
- Implement processes and procedures to ensure that products and systems stay healthy
- Identify system and architecture issues and drive their resolution
- Prioritize tasks based on knowledge of the systems and potential user benefits
- Own the lifecycle of products from inception to production release – oversee all stages of development and make sure that blocking issues are escalated and resolved
- Stay abreast of the status of all features and bugs and ensure that stakeholders are kept informed

- Propose novel solutions to complex and interesting payments problems
What it takes to Succeed at this Role
You:

- Know core CS principles (algorithms, data structures, software design) through a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a technical subject or equivalent experience
- Know object-oriented programming principles and have experience in Node.js
- Have experience with Unix/Linux or Windows and distributed systems
- Have experience working on projects and in teams (either on personal projects, or in school or at work)
- Are willing to hack and figure out how things work
- Have a strong work ethic.
