CAPEX is a Re-capitalised Life Assurance Company with the Head Office located in Lagos, Nigeria. It has international branches in Ghana, Gambia, Liberia, Sierra Leone, South Africa. The Company currently has a robust clientele cutting across various sectors amongst which are Govt. Agencies and parastatal, Banking and Investment, Educational institutions and various other corporate organizations in Nigeria.

Due to expansion and New products introduced, we are seeking the service of qualified and suitable candidates, to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Strategy & Planning

Location: Lagos

Job Description

To provide strategic direction for the SBUs towards achieving the objectives of the Company.

RequirementCandidates should possess relevant qualifications.

Key Responsibilities Strategy

Plan and Coordinate the strategic planning function of the Company
Execute strategic initiatives, with a focus towards maximizing market share and increasing profit by translating strategic objectives into practical plans and goals
Develop and communicate the strategy for the Company including but not limited to:
o developing an overall corporate strategy and cascading it down for every Strategic Business Unit (SBU), Strategic Resource Function (SRF) and subsidiary;
Develop and coordinate annual strategic planning process and corporate planning initiatives; Ensuring that employees understand the details of the strategic plan and how their work connects to corporate goals
Identify optimization opportunities and implement high impact strategic interventions on regular and ad hoc basis to improve operational efficiency across the Company, organize and coordinate various SRFs and SBUs to ensure the aims and objectives of strategic projects are met within reasonable limits of allocated resources
Implement the strategy of the Company, focus towards maximizing market share, shareholders wealth and increasing profit by translating strategic objectives into practical plans and goals
Take ownership of decision making that sustains organizational change, test whether the decisions being made across the organization are aligned with the strategy and are creating the desired results and decide on basis of outcome analyses, whether to stay on track or to change direction
Develop and coordinate plans aimed at translating strategic objectives into practical plans and goals
Provide Executive Management with global and regional business scenarios and ad-hoc analyses as required; identify new business growth opportunities or potential operational risks; advising best options to proceed
Present analytical and value-added insights to Executive Management on market and business trends, consumer innovation and patterns, industry trends, macroeconomic factors and demographic potentials
Deliver off-site deployment process, coordinate subsidiaries and Strategic Business Units (SBUs) to ensure tight fit alignment with corporate strategy with the objective of maximizing value-based direction and enhancing business focus and profitability.
Present new ideas for growth through understanding competitive actions and market trends in the local and global financial industry with strategic intent of influencing and directing management thought
Manage all aspects of the annual Board Strategy Retreat event including, making presentations on industry insights to assist the Board in its decision making function; coordinating presentations of each member of the Management Committee (and relevant SRFs) to ensure appropriate message is delivered to the Board.
Coordinate all the SBUs and ensures the achievement of financial target approved for the division by Management

Job DescriptionWork closely with line managers to achieve company objectives by providing daily general HR support/advisory service and Administrative activities on issues ranging from Well functioning of equipment, Vehicles, rents etc.
Key Responsibilities

Review and document Staff Handbook
Create Position and Job Descriptions
Undertake Group Executive Recruitment
Oversee Human Capital Development & General Admin activities
Review and Compile Business Process Manuals
Exceptional Deliverables including assignments like site management.
Human Capital Development:

Support the implementation of HR strategy in-line with Company’s Objectives
Assist in the development and implementation of Company policies & procedures
Support & guide staff in all employees relations matters in-line with Company policies and procedures
Oversees the preparation and management of payroll, benefits and compensation
Ensures full utilisation of IES modules as it relates to HR operations
Oversees the recruitment process and ensure that identified vacancies are filled with the right candidates promptly
Ensures maintenance of staff records and information
Ensures delivery of effective HR support and guidance to Line Managers on a range of HR issues but not limited to employees well-being, absence management, and reward & recognition
Identify learning gaps and manage the delivery of training and development interventions, across the organisation
Manages induction/orientation programmes for all new staff and facilitate the implementation and monitoring of such programmes
Collaborates with Heads of Departments and Units for performance evaluation and monitoring
Coordinates all strategic meetings/events for the organization(Retreat etc)
Coordinates all administrative activities in the department.
Works with HODs to determine manpower requirements and analyses overall manpower needs of the organization for proper planning and budgeting
Ensures timely delivery of reports particularly compliance reports

Maintenance of furniture and Office fittings.
Generators maintenance and diesel supply at all time.
Maintaining the stock level of stationery and all other equipment for the smooth running of the Company.
Coordinating the Branch Admin Officers.
To Pay all bills i.e PHCN, Telephone, Couriers and Rents at H/O and Branches.
Insurance of all Cars and Vehicles.
Maintenance of all Company’s Car
Payment of all State and local government levies and taxes on Properties and Vehicles.
Reporting of all necessary reports in respect of company’s Admin department
