Job Title: Programmes Director


 About the role

The Programmes Director will provide strategic leadership and vision for Amnesty’s Nigeria research, campaigns, advocacy and media activities centred on human rights work in Nigeria. This role will lead on the development of an integrated strategy on the country’s human rights agenda, overseeing its application, and ensuring consistency between AI’s policies and strategies for work in Nigeria with those in other global regions.


About you

With experience of working on human rights issues, you must have first-hand in-depth knowledge and experience of the socio-political and economic context in Nigeria, as well as regional and global human rights trends.

You will have the confidence and expertise to identify relevant information quickly, understand what’s key and pinpoint the most effective means of communication; Possess a high degree of integrity. Flexible enough to adapt your approach as priorities change, you will also bring us a real flair for innovation and a talent for project management particularly important when time pressures are intense. Bring on board experience of human rights research and integrate it with action and campaigning for human rights change
