Job Title: Logistics and Distribution Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • The Logistics and Distribution Manager shall be responsible for gathering, developing, and managing strategic account information and sales activity
  • He/she provides executive support to assist in building optimum sales force performance, develops and executes sales and marketing programs, and manages customer facing activities and events
  • This position manages Sales Support Managers, Marketing Managers, Global Logistics Sales Support Managers, and Call Center and Qualifications Managers

Qualification

  • A Degree in any related course.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Executes Sales and Marketing Programs
  • Creates and communicates sales and marketing plans for the business unit to establish revenue growth goals.
  • Creates and manages budgets for marketing initiatives to ensure cost containment.
  • Conducts research on market trends, competitive environment and customer behavior to identify product opportunities and develop customer strategy.
  • Develops and executes sales initiatives to capitalize on opportunities to grow revenue.
  • Develops strategic relationships with other supporting functions (e.g., Solutions, Operations, Finance and Accounting, Marketing, etc.) to more effectively capitalize on revenue growth opportunities
  • Directs Facility Events, Visits, and Tours for Internal and External Parties
  • Leads departmental collaborations with Business Development to review customers’ profiles and needs
  • Steers facility visits and tours (e.g., meeting agenda and objectives, guest speakers, security, transportation, etc.) to maximize time spent with customers, decision-makers, and key stakeholders and to support business development
  • Oversees visitor tour paths (e.g., visuals, scripts, equipment, routes, etc.) to maximize the facility tour experience.
  • Directs the coordination of large-scale events (e.g., customer loyalty events, Ryder Cup, NASCAR, Board of Directors, etc.) to support external and internal relations.

Provides Data Analysis Support to Worldwide Sales:

  • Modifies the sales dashboard to display latest sales trends (e.g., weekly performance, staffing, sales funnel, etc.).
  • Provides sales force funnel analysis to ensure accurate results are provided to senior management
  • Evaluates and analyzes data to determine additional methods and approaches for capturing the data requested by senior management
  • Analyzes data to assess strategic business opportunities, identify key sales performance drivers, and compare current performance against sales objectives.
  • Provides daily client support of category management, market research, and other related activities to ensure management of data requests, data quality control, and augmentation of analytical work occurs.

Oversees Training and Development:

  • Identifies training needs to ensure an effective and efficient workforce.
  • Provides training opportunities to support skill and career development.
  • Monitors training progress, provides feedback, and creates opportunities to support the growth and career development of the staff.
  • Reviews systems to identify enhancements and updates to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Delivers training to internal staff and external stakeholders on process and system enhancements to ensure effective implementations.

Applies Service, Product, and Customer Technology Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates familiarity with the core service offerings across business units and deep familiarity with product, service, and customer facing technology offerings of at least one business unit; demonstrates knowledge of competitors’ offerings and the features of their products, services, and customer facing technology solutions; describes types of customers that would benefit from selected offerings; compares and contrasts COMPANY’s and competitor’s products, services, and customer facing technology solutions; able to compare and contrast the customer’s experience of engaging with COMPANY and primary competitors across all touch-points; summarizes positive and negative gaps; develops plans to leverage advantages and correct disadvantages.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of COMPANY’s products, services, and customer facing technology solutions across multiple business units; develops strategies for cross-portfolio selling opportunities; applies knowledge of the operations and markets served by multiple business units and relevant business cycles such as seasonal trends; adapts explanations of COMPANY’s products, services, and/or customer facing technology solutions to varying situations, audiences, or customers.

Assesses Business Needs:

  • Identifies current and future needs of the customer or business; understands how business needs dictate the project’s requirements, project direction, business objectives, and resource allocation; makes recommendations on the solutions-design phase of the project.
  • Monitors the business need to identify any changes; breaks the business down into smaller components to better prioritize where attention should be focused; identifies related business needs; knowledgeable about what information to look at to make an assessment; demonstrates a thorough understanding of the business’ long-term needs; creates solutions designed to fit current and future needs.

Budget Management:

  • Tracks expenditures against financial targets; describes impact of area’s budget on organizational financial plan
  • Creates new budgets; identifies and takes corrective actions to bring areas in line with budget; appropriately allocates available funds.

Detail Orientation:

  • Distinguishes between “big picture” concepts and comments and specialized, smaller specific facts associated with work; notes the specifics of events and experiences; explains, in general, how details impact end goals or outcomes; ensures that work is completed accurately and with the appropriate level of detail.

  • Develops project management plans and leads the implementation for the most complex and longer duration projects and programs; defines initiatives project needs and cross-functional roles/responsibilities throughout the project life cycle; develops recommendations and facilitates fulfillment of all project requirements given the current project and organizational dynamics; overcomes complex organizational resistance to cross-functional project demands; considered an expert in the discipline of project management and remains current on advanced project management practices and tools.

Report Generation:

  • Addresses and resolves issues impacting information systems reporting; looks for ways to minimize report generation and required storage; modifies existing report formats; creates and interprets customized reports; integrates data, information, and documents from multiple software programs; writes more complex report queries.
  • Able to design new report generation processes; identifies emerging trends that impact information retrieval and reporting; develops standards for report generation, maintenance, and distribution; writes highly complex queries to generate ad- hoc, customized reports; creates templates for standardized report creation; writes macros to automate queries.

Solicits and Gathers Information:

  • Uses in-depth techniques to uncover new information or details that are not readily available; selects techniques and strategies that are appropriate for the audience; chooses techniques that result in more accurate and thorough information; implements strategies that minimize biases and preconceived ideas.

Supply Chain Management:

Vendor/Supplier Management:

  • Identifies and resolves vendor or contract issues; recommends changes to the procurement process.
