Job Title: Project Manager, Value Chain of Biofortified Crops

Location: Abuja/Kano


Summary

  • We are looking for an exceptional Project Manager who will lead the management and coordination of all aspects of the Assessment of Agricultural Value chains for improving the livelihood in Northern East areas in Nigeria project funded by the World Food Program.
  • Ideal candidate would have strong project management skills and experience working in business, sales, and/or agricultural development settings.
  • The position could be based in Kano or Abuja and there will be opportunities for travel to eHealth Africa’s offices in Sierra Leone and Liberia for project work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day execution and implementation of agricultural value chains projects.
  • Provide oversight to project planning to define scope and objectives of programs and utilize strong project management skills, stakeholder management experience, networking, and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of project management experience within private or non-profit sectors. Experience working in international development and donor funding settings is an advantage. Experience working in international agricultural development projects is highly desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business field from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree, PMP is a plus

Job Title: Technical Project Manager (VTS)

Location: Kano


About the Vaccination Tracking System (VTS)

  • The Vaccination Tracking System (VTS) is a donor funded project for the Federal Ministry of Health Nigeria, to develop a system, processes and tools to monitor polio vaccination activities across Nigeria.

The objectives of the project are to:

  • Create and manage a geospatial database for all 8 high risk states in Northern Nigeria to support enhancements to the micro-planning process
  • Support enhancements to Immunization Plus Days (IPD) processes by recording the vaccination team positions (the “tracks”) at regular interval
  • Import tracks from the phones and calculate coverage analytics based on the intersects of the positions and the underlying geographic reference data for the settlements
  • Provide automated web based dashboard and maps at local and national level for use at the Nigeria EOCs in Abuja and Kano as well as remotely by external partners”

Purpose of the Position

  • The Technical Project Manager(VTS) is the person in charge of ensuring the optimal performance of the VTS system from a technical perspective, including end-to-end continuous improvement of the system and technical processes, systems development and security
  • Reporting to the senior manager of IT Engineering & Operations, s/he functions as a technical manager with authority and direct responsibility for release planning, production configuration control and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do

  • The Technical Project Management(VTS) will support eHA’s VTS project predominantly by performing his/her job successfully, the  individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

Technical Support Responsibilities:

  • Creates and maintains quality assurance checklists for all dimensions of the VTS system (software, data, devices, logistics, staffing)
  • Conducts retrospective assessments of each campaign, capturing both best practices and ideas for process improvement
  • Collaborates with the VTS Application Owner for the continuous improvement and optimization of the geospatial data management and publication during vaccination campaign preparations
  • Collaborates with the VTS Application Owner to understand emerging customer requirements and the software features development roadmap
  • Collaborates with the QA department head to define test and monitor VTS test plans
  • Maintains the VTS production change log
  • Deploys to the field as required, including in the context of rapid response missions
  • Strengthens VTS capacity and supports effective visualization and communication of field level information
  • Contributes towards the identification and implementation of effective and adapted technical solutions and partnerships
  • Ensures the collection and management of data for VTS use is integrated in information-gathering methodologies, tools and databases
  • Supports the section in relation to information management activities and other activities as required
  • Able to guide the team through the development, testing and implementation stages and review the completed work effectively
  • Responsible for ensuring all technical knowledge, processes, and procedures are developed, and updated
  • Provide direction and technical expertise in design, development and systems integration
  • Provide direction and technical expertise development. Ensure standard operating procedures and project guidelines are in place. Must ensure teams follow the correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements across project phases

Cross Functional Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, documents and communicates all business processes and sub-processes related to the deployment and effective use of VTS during field campaigns
  • Communicates roles & responsibilities clearly to all internal and external parties
  • Collaborates with the development partner to enable the execution of concurrent vaccination campaigns
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with customers, vendors, and key strategic partners
  • Analyze quantitative execution and system performance data and translate into recommendations and actionable plans, interpreting technical information from structured and unstructured sources.
  • Manage and maintain issue lists and product improvement roadmaps.

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Validates the accuracy of documentation and procedures by participating in field supervision exercises
  • Must ensure teams follow the correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements across project phases
  • Able to guide the team through the development, testing and implementation stages and review the completed work effectively
  • Ensures that process owners are identified, trained and empowered to execute their tasks.
  • Chairs the VTS Release Readiness Committee, ensuring that all required quality checks have taken place prior to the start of each campaign
  • Builds and reinforces teamwork with direct reports through clear, effective communication, ensuring both understanding and accountability
  • Displays a healthy level of teamwork by developing solid relationships with other department in the organisation
  • Lead project reporting for stakeholders, including building and maintaining project dashboards
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Management

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or any information Technology-related Degree
  • A minimum of 5 years experience managing mission-critical applications, including responsibility for planning and communicating with stakeholders
  • Experience performing application support and system administration tasks
  • Project management and/or ITIL certification a plus
  • Experience in Problem and Incident Management.

Job Title: Driver

Summary

  • The Driver will work under the direct supervision of the Associate Fleet and would be responsible for operating eHealth Africa’s motor vehicles.
  • S/he is responsible for safely and responsibly performing all official travel using official vehicles.
  • Regularly servicing and looking after official vehicles taking account of all available information on road conditions, accessible routes and locations running official errands and assisting with other office work

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Transports employees and other individuals as directed, in a safe and responsible manner; this includes, shuttle transportation for campaigns, projects, airport and distributions runs. Greets employees and individuals warmly.
  • Ensures vehicle is in proper and safe condition prior to use. Reports any damages or mechanical malfunctions and provides recommendations for repairs.
  • Observes traffic rules and regulations and maximum speed limits prescribed.
  • Keeps assigned vehicles clean, free from damage, and in acceptable condition consistently.
  • Reports for work on time and at specified location. Wears the appropriate outfits and footwear (closed toe shoes).
  • Maintains schedules of pick-up and drop-off assignments.
  • Maintains a professional and friendly approach to management, supervisors and colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with company regulations and established internal policies and guidelines
  • Reports all safety, security and driving incidents to supervisor immediately where possible.
  • Ensures that all relevant notification procedures are followed in the event of absence from work.

Availability, willingness and flexibility to travel outside assigned site area for periods lasting as long as 3-4 days at a time. Such out-of-town travel may be necessary as often as every six weeks or eight times per year. Travel accommodations and per diem will be provided for out-of town assignments
