We are recruiting to fill the following vacant positions below:
 Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning Assistant

Role Purpose
  • To assist the MEAL unit in regular data collections through implementing partners/volunteers and ensure quality of the data by random verifications and validation
  • To record, manage and preserve monitoring and evaluation data in a safe and accessible way
  • Provide technical support on M&E and evidence-based recommendations to the relevant Program Officers and Partners. Support Program Officers and partners in conducting of field activities and adheres to CA’s monitoring and evaluation system. Participate actively in programme planning processes.
  • Upload key reports to the Source (intranet)
  • Support the team in developing the quarterly/annual organisational reports.
  • Assist MEAL unit in designing, coordinating and conducting project evaluations (baseline, mid-term and end-line)

Role Context:
  • The role works within the International Programmes role family positioned within the humanitarian team. The role is key in providing MEAL support to the work team to ensure partnerships and programmes are managed effectively
  • The role will normally work within a country office and there may be occasional travel required.

Applied Skills/Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
  • Degree in Statistics or any of the Social Sciences with at least three working experience with an I/NGO Experience of monitoring and evaluation and Project/programme-cycle management approaches and tools – including participatory planning.
  • Understanding of reporting requirements of institutional donors such as Global Fund, EU, DFID and USAID.
  • Understanding and familiarity with data management tools (such as CS Pro, DHIS, NHMIS is essential)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Packages
  • Familiarity and understanding of statistical software such as SPSS, Epi-info; STATA)
  • Hands-on experience of monitoring and supporting community-based development programmes.

Role Purpose
  • To support CA financial management functions at the field offices and ensure that adequate financial records are kept at field offices and payment requests are processed on a timely basis.
  • The finance associates will be responsible for preparing financial documentation including cheques, petty cash reimbursement, petty cash advances and all staff floats.
  • The role is required to be familiar with CA and donor financial compliance requirements and to ensure that these are operationalised in the field office they are responsible for.
Role Context
  • Based in Kaduna, Benue and Plateau States. This role is part of the wider CA Nigeria Team. It is responsible for the financial management within CA Sub-Offices in the 3 states which will include financial records, financial reports, budgets, donor reporting, internal and external audits and providing financial support to Christian Aid partner staff as may be required. This role reports to the Finance Coordinator.
Key Outcomes
  • Cash, bank books and other financial documentation is maintained and reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Monthly expenditure reports and cash forecasts are submitted to Finance Coordinator on a timely basis.
  • Field Office budgets are reviewed, updated and administered accurately.

Job Title: Finance Coordinator

Role purpose
  • To lead in the financial management and reporting for Christian Aid’s projects in Kaduna, Plateau and Benue States.
  • The role will ensure that all financial transactions incurred on the project are in line with CA and donor requirements.
  • The role is responsible for reviewing all costs incurred at the field offices and posting all transactions into CA Accounting software.
  • The role will also ensure that donor reports are prepared and shared with all stakeholders within the organisation in line with the Finance Team Reporting timetable.
  • This role will directly line manage 3 finance associates and will ensure that financial procedures and controls at field office are adhered to and that grant conditions of donors relating to the projects are complied with.
Role Context
  • Based in Abuja, this role is part of the wider CA Nigeria Team.
  • It is responsible for the financial management within CA Sub-Offices in the 3 states which will include financial records, financial reports, budgets, donor reporting, internal and external audits and providing financial support to Christian Aid partner staff as may be required. This role reports to the Finance Manager.
Key Outcomes:
  • Timely preparation, review and posting of all transactions related to the projects and ensuring that monthly expenditure reports, variance reports and financial updates are provided to internal stakeholders on a timely basis.

    • Relationships with partners and Institutional donors. Represents Christian Aid and the programme externally with partners, other NGOs, donors and other agencies. Appraise, monitor and review programme in line with CA and donor requirements.
  • Internal:
    • The position is line managed by the Finance Manager and will in turn line manage the Finance Associates at the field offices. The role links up strongly with the Programme lead working on the project, the Governance Manager and the Grants and Compliance Coordinator.
    • This role will have contact with other members of the field offices, the Abuja finance staff, auditors (internal and external) as well as the international finance team based in London. Decision making
    • This role is expected to work in close collaboration with the Finance Manager to deliver financial information to Christian Aid and donors. The role is required to make significant decisions the financial management processes within Christian Aid field offices.
Analytical Skills:
  • Ability to review financial information alongside programme objectives and outputs to ensure that CA delivers strongly on all identified targets. Ability to coordinate and lead the direct reports to ensure that donor requirements and Christian Aid procedures are adhered to is critical for this role.
  • A strong understanding of ECHO financial management and financial reporting is essential.

  • The role holder will be hold an Accounting Degree (or equivalent) and a qualified member of a recognised accounting body (ICAN, ACCA)

Role Purpose
  • To raise the Christian Aid’s profile through effective content management of the Building Early Improved Early Warning Early Response to Strengthen Disaster Preparedness in Nigeria’s Middle Belt and Northern Regions.
  • To contribute to the implementation of Christian Aid Resilience Strategy while supporting the team on concrete steps in the implementation of the strategy within the wider country programmes.
  • To contribute to the representation and brand of Christian Aid in country, engage with and promote communications and fundraising, including institutional donors. The role holder directly working with partners, conduct technical trainings, manage partnership and networking with key stakeholders.
Role Context
  • The Program officer- Disaster Reduction & Peacebuilding works within the International Programmes family and the wider Programme Funding remit.
  • The position is also expected to bring creative ideas, innovation and technical know-how to support the wider team around early warning, early response mechanisms, Conflict sensitivity and participatory vulnerability capacity assessments in accordance with CA strategy.
