Job Description
  • Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Malaria Diagnostics Specialist to join our team in Abuja, Nigeria.
  • The Malaria Diagnostics Specialist will provide technical support under SUNMAP2 with a focus in the area of improving malaria diagnosis.
  • The Malaria Diagnostics Specialist will contribute to strategy and technical direction for interventions to improve malaria diagnosis and assure the quality of the work undertaken to promote malaria diagnosis in the public and private sector.
Requirements 
The successful candidate will have:
  • Post-graduate qualification in a Laboratory-related discipline, preferably with a strong malaria programme component
  • At least 10 years’ experience in malaria/communicable disease diagnosis and operational research
  • Should be conversant with basic epidemiological research methodology

Job Description
  • The Social Accountability Specialist will be the lead person on engaging citizens and institutions in the country’s malaria response and will support a better understanding of the gap between awareness and use of malaria interventions, and support efforts to promote positive behaviour change and the uptake of malaria interventions.
  • They will lead technical aspects of the project of building the capacity and provide technical support to citizens and institutions in the country’s malaria response to effectively monitor and advocate for quality malaria service delivery.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
  • A postgraduate degree in Public Health, Institutional Development, or other relevant field
  • Knowledge of and experience working with civil society sector in the Nigeria
  • Knowledge and experience in designing and applying social accountability tools
  • Experience developing and delivering training projects and providing assistance/coaching to communities
  • Experience working with the international development projects (DFID experience is preferred).
  • Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written
  • Fluency in English is required

  • The Finance Manager: SuNMaP2 will be responsible for all financial aspects of the project sub-award contracts, partner and project financial reporting, financial accounting and budget management ensuring good value for money is achieved on the project.
  • They will ensure compliance within the project of both the donor regulations and Malaria Consortium’s policies and processes.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
  • Qualified accountant in recognised global body, ACA or CIMA
  • Significant experience in a financial management managerial position
  • Highly familiar with cost accounting standards and management of sub-contracts and sub-grants with partners
  • Past exposure and experience working on large scale projects and managing teams across multiple locations
  • Previous experience of providing data to evidence value for money on a project.

  • The Supply Chain Specialist will manage the SuNMaP 2 project supply chain activities in line with organizational and project objectives and donor’s expectations and guidelines.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
  • Extensive experience in importing health commodities (including medical and nutrition supplies and pharmaceuticals) in Nigeria
  • Educated at a Bachelors level in relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Supply Chain and/or Procurement Qualification (e.g. Supply Chain Masters or CIPS)
  • Demonstrated success as a supply chain manager within regional or national environment.
  • Strong knowledge of WHO Good Storage and Good Distribution Practices
  • Experience with managing pharmaceutical supply chains

Job Description
  • The Senior Evidence and Learning Specialist will be seconded to the National Malaria Elimination Programme. S/he will work closely with counterparts in NMEP to build capacity in the area of malaria evidence generation and use.
  • This will involve ensuring the NMEP develops and maintains a coherent and relevant learning agenda and programme that strengthens programme design and implementation.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
  • Postgraduate degree in public health or development related fields, with a focus on learning approaches
  • At least 10 years working in technical role with an excellent understanding of health systems
  • Extensive experience of developing and supporting a framework for organisational learning and impact
  • Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities of gathering and using evidence in public health programmes in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA)
  • Strong experience in capacity building for effective outputs, ideally learning related
  • Sound understanding and experience of monitoring and evaluation processes to measure and monitor activity and progress against objectives
  • Familiarity with the Nigerian health system, including government planning processes at Federal and State levels.

Job Description
  • The Project Director will provide overall programme oversight to SUNMAP2. He/She will be the focal point for engagement with DFID and representation at National level.
  • He/She will lead the SUNMAP2 Senior Management Team (SMT).
  • The post holder will be responsible for the development and monitoring of a sustainability plan working closely with other members of the SMT and other partners.
  • He/She will support institutional capacity building efforts including those linked to health reforms.
  • They will provide oversight to long term secondments to NMEP and line manage members of the SMT.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, International Development or related discipline
  • Senior management level experience on large sized health projects in Africa
  • At least 15 years working experience in international projects
  • At least 5 years of those spent in projects in developing countries lasting more than 2 years and managing teams of 10 or more including local and international staff
  • Experience managing at least one project for an external government client for at least 2 years
  • Experience working with performance-based contracts
  • Experience in project and financial management with a proven track record of timely submission of high quality project deliverables
