Role Summary

  • The EPC Planner is required to create and maintain the EPC Systems project plan during the project execution, alongside the Systems Engineering Planner.
  • The EPC Planner is also responsible for leadership and technical support of their appointed project planning team, supporting project functions and managing project controls.

  • The EPC Planner is a key partner to the Project Director as he/she provides them visibility on project execution.   • Project plan creation
  • OTR EPC Planner is responsible for completing the project plan baseline creation and development in-line with GE IPP/ QMS and contractual requirements.
  • The EPC Planner is responsible for P6 project node creation, with assistance from a P6 Super user. Ensure Planning Team create all project plans within correct folders of this node and that project naming conventions are adhered to, in-line with current QMS.
  • EPC Planner to provide timeline/ schedule for baseline plan creation, in-line with Planning QMS documentation.This should be communicated to both planning team and the customer. Hold regular update meetings with planners to track progress and ensure deadlines are adhered to.
  • EPC Planner to chair planning workout/ project kick-off Meeting(s) with all members of the Project Planning Team (initial meeting ideally face to face), to ensure team alignment. Follow the ‘Plan Creation Checklist (QW-SPS-GLO-PLN-004) which details how to build the plan and the actions required by each planner.
  • The EPC Planner is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the EPC project plan (in the commercial phase and / or in the execution phase. Aligning Key Milestones such as Contract Award with the agreed dates. Working with PL Planners to ensure correct logic and linking of their Deliverables to the relevant Contractual and Billing Milestones. They are required to add the EPC Project Management Team resources to vouchering activities in plan, assign and manage hours for the duration of the project, in-line with ‘Primavera Vouchering and Coding Maintenance Work Instruction’ (QW-SS-GLO-PLN-007).
  • Once all project plans are complete, carry out vigorous schedule Quality checks across all plans, in-line with ‘Global Planning Schedule Integrity Metrics’ QMS Procedure (OGQ-GPQ-0013).
  • Carry out Critical Path Analysis and produce Total Float Reports across project plans, in order to highlight the most critical schedule drivers to Project Director, Customer, Planning Team, relevant functions and any other key stakeholders.
  • EPC Planner to ensure all Baselines are set on contractually agreed date.
  • Schedule and budget control
  • The EPC Planner secures complete alignment with Baseline Control QMS and related work instructions.
  • Keeps Project Management team budget maintained vs. baseline as per PD instructions, within the boundaries of the QMS.
  • Carry out regular checks across all Project Plans to ensure Budgeted figures remain as per Baseline, where there are discrepancies, inform plan owner and request fix, provide support, if required.
  • The EPC Planner works with the project planner on schedule revision and change control incorporate agreed upon contract amendments (Variation Orders) and uses formal change control mechanisms.

The EPC Planner is also responsible for:

  • Communication protocol with product lines and functions.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or other relevant related degree/or equivalent
  • Extensive experience and Knowledge of P6 Primavera Schedule tool
  • Experience of project management tools, methods and processes
  • Knowledge of O&G Capital projects, preferably in Subsea Production Systems
  • Commercially, financially and contractually aware with good communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial leadership skills with proven capability of working in a matrix environment and of leading by influence

Role Summary

Essential Responsibilities
Month End closing activities:

  • Reconcile revenue and cost of sales to the appropriate business system as directed by the SPS Projects Finance Leader
  • Calculate percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting entries for assigned POC projects
  • Reconcile engineering/project management costs to P&L Account/Inventory
  • Prepare management commentary on major bookings and shipments in the month for assigned projects

  • Reconcile warranty, liquidated damages and penalty provision reserves for assigned projects

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Review status of the documentation, including overdue actions, non-conformities and customer communications and generate periodic reports as per agreed project routine.
  • Support the PM and Team in the generation and submission of the periodic Customer reports as required by the Contract.
  • Maintain Documentation Forecast dates.
  • Arrange, attend and minute internal and external project meetings.
  • On Receipt of Instruction from Engineering/Quality prepare documentation ready for Customer issue including final document quality checks and transmit to Customer in accordance with the contract specifications.

  • Should client specifications result in a deviation to this procedure, the DC shall modify the Document Management Plan to be applied for the particular project and provide the required training to the respective PL Document Controllers.
  • Coordinate Document Controllers/Project Administrators for the approval process of the customer documentation for the particular project across the PLs
  • Perform document control quality check before submission of documents to client.
  • Ensuring the governance of the Project Document Management Plan within the GE O&G organisation. Any questions relating to the application of the plan shall be exclusively submitted to Projects Document Controller.

  • Applicable experience of preferably 5 years from Document Control within Engineering and Supplier/Vendor documentation, preferably related to the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Need to be skilled in use of IT tools for document control and distribution, document scheduling etc.
  • Working on a high accuracy level, able to manage heavy work load in periods and understand work methods and routines as outlined in DCC procedures and tools.

  • Provide advice, assistance and guidance to management, PMs and functions on project specific contractual matters.
  • Manage the invoicing process ensuring that the project maintains the best possible free cash flow.
  • Ensure commercial risks are identified and managed across the project scopes of work by controlling the overall project risk and opportunity review and reporting process.
  • Accurately manage the project cost status and reporting and advising on variances, risks and corrective actions affecting the overall project estimate to complete.
  • Co-ordinate and support periodic client and internal reporting and performance presentations.
  • Ensure a project sourcing plan and timeline is established with the support of Sourcing function and ensure that related commercial and contractual risks for key subcontracts and major purchases are being mitigated and opportunities are managed.
  • Manage and support the formulation and negotiation of project contractual claims and counter claims.
  • Support the handover process to the base organization at project completion.
  • Deputize for the PD as required..

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, or, other relevant legal, commercial, energy related degree/or equivalent.
  • Substantial contract management experience in an O&G capital construction project environment.
  • Proven track record in contributing to the improvement of project profitability, cash flow and control of commercial risk in previous roles.
  • Commercially, financially and contractually aware with good communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial leadership skills with proven capability of working in a matrix environment and of leading by influence.
  • Willing to work at a detail level.
  • A valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate will be required (please indicate clearly on your resume)

  • Industry Legal Awareness: Full understanding and working knowledge of the key legal risk areas such as but not limited to contractual liability, insurance requirements, defective performance and warranty obligations for goods and services and application of same in the Oil and Gas (O&G) Industry.

Role Summary

  • The Senior Systems Engineer has technical responsibility for all aspects of the Execution Phase of an Engineering/Procurement/Construction (EPC) Subsea Project.
  • Reporting directly to the Global Systems Engineering Manager, and functionally to the EPC Project Engineering Manager, this is a senior level role working in a high profile function of GE Oil & Gas.

Essential Responsibilities
Engineering and Technical responsibility for an EPC Project as follows:

  • Creation and control of the System Master Equipment List and Master Document Register
  • Delivery of the System Field Layouts and Distribution schematics
  • Delivery of the System Design Basis and Functional Design Specifications
  • Material selection and Corrosion protection Philosophy
  • Internal and External Interfaces
  • Design Verification Program
  • Technical Change control process
  • Technical Assurance program
  • Flow Assurance, Hydrate Management and Thermal Design
  • 3rd party certification and regulatory compliance programs
  • Intervention, Inspection, maintenance and repair strategy
  • System Integrating testing program

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Masters or Bachelor degree in Engineering or science based discipline/or equivalent
  • Chartered Engineer or PE certification is preferred
  • 5 years’ oil and gas engineering background mainly in subsea production systems
  • Mandatory NSE and COREN certifications.
  • Proven experience across at least 2 of the following: (Item 2 is compulsory)
  • Project Management/Engineering Management experience of Subsea project execution
  • Technical expertise across at least 2 of the following product lines (one at ‘expert’ level): Trees, PCS, Manifolds, Well Control & Intervention, Subsea Power & Processing.
  • Practical knowledge of at least 3 aspects of the Subsea Systems Engineering Lifecycle: New Product Introduction, Tender development, Project Engineering, SIT, commissioning, and operations
  • Domain expertise across at least 2 of the following (one at ‘expert’ level): Hydro-mechanical, Electrical & power, Software/Electronic, Marine/Structural
  • Availability to travel internationally for project needs and for short term assignments
  • Fuent English speaker
