 Job Title: Media Sales Executive (1 male and 2 female)
Location: Nigeria
Key Responsibilities:
  • Studies and understands all facets of the media products and services being offered by the company. Trains in various sales tactics and approaches approved by the company.
  • Approaches potential clients through new leads, cold calls, existing relationships, promotional events, or other means.
  • Conducts market research identifying new clients and devising new creative marketing strategies to increase company sales and revenues.
  • Hones and delivers a skilled sales pitch to potential clients, either by phone or in person, in an effort to secure a sale. This includes client generation through cold calling, follow-up & call closure (converting calls into clients) and walk door-to-door business soliciting.
  • Explains the benefits and characteristics of our media offerings to potential clients. Details pricing and negotiates costs when necessary. Recommends appropriate sizes and formats for advertising.
  • Maintains the client database as well as data retrieving of prospective clients. Adds notes to records for each client call or meeting. Facilitates successful sales by collecting client information and providing order information to the company. Obtains and studies information about clients’ products, needs, problems, advertising history, and business practices in order to offer effective sales presentations and appropriate product assistance.
  • Prepares promotional plans, sales literature, media kits, and sales contracts, using computer. Writes sales outlines for use by staff.
  • Handles billing/invoice and quotation. Tracks every media purchase made to ensure that it is completed accurately and on time.
  • Collects editorial and advertising material from clients and delivers advertising or illustration proofs to clients for approval.
  • Works with the production team to ensure that agreed advertisements are carried in the right place and at the right time.
  • Works to maximize sales and meet targets in the short and long term.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with all clients in the executive’s portfolio.
  • Meets clients outside of normal business hours when necessary.
  • Receives bonuses for exceptional sales performance
  • Delivers sales reports to management.
  • Supports the company’s social media by participating with comments and posts.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Holder of or pursuing a relevant degree or diploma of any domain. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Media will be highly valued. For those who have a proven record of successfully selling other products, educational requirements are not strict.
  • Experience: Previous Sales or Media Experience will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creates content for a monthly magazine of up to 100 pages making sure that the production process runs smoothly every month.
  • Plans and writes contents for the magazine or website according to the publication’s style, editorial policy, and publishing requirements.
  • Develops story or content ideas, considering reader or audience appeal.
  • Verifies facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources.
  • Assigns topics, events and stories to individual writers or reporters for coverage.
  • Finds collaborators and contributing editors. Stays in touch with them, collects material, reads, evaluates and edits their manuscripts or other materials submitted for publication and confers with authors regarding changes in content, style or organization, or publication.
  • Ensures utilization of all news sources, such as press releases, telephone contacts, radio, television, wire services, and other reporters.
  • Arranges for copyright permissions.
  • Cooperates and liaises with designers, photographers, advertising reps, writers, artists…
  • Prepares, rewrites and edits to improve readability, or supervise others who do this work. Reads or copy proofs to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax.

  • Works in collaboration with the graphic design department to adapt the content to the design and aesthetics of the magazine.
  • Collaborates with the sales team in the preparation of advertising and advertorial material. Supports the sales team discovering new potential clients from their editorial research.
  • Prepares the research, writes questions and topics and conducts interviews.
  • Prepares conference, advertising and other written material for the company.
  • Is up to date on news, social media, influencers, artists, authors, celebrities, fashion, business and other topics in Nigeria.
  • Confers with management and editorial staff members regarding placement and emphasis of developing news stories.
  • Must possess excellent grammar, writing, editing and spelling skills, as well as understand the special considerations for writing for a printed magazine and the web.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the development and design of a monthly printed magazine of up to 100 pages.
  • Illustrates concepts by designing layout of art and editorial content attending to the arrangement, size, type, font style, and related aesthetic concepts.
  • Responsible for image handling and manipulation. Has excellent technical and photographic skills and has knowledge to fulfill artwork in a multi-media platform. Takes pictures of people, events, places and objects to improve the content, design and aesthetic of the magazine, website, ads, flyers or any other material needed by the company.
  • Prepares final print-ready layout files of art and editorial.
  • Creates the book of style of the magazine.
  • Prepares marketing kits, rate cards, ads and other design material needed for the operations of the company.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by engaging in continual on-the-job training resources, reviewing professional publications and studying the competition as well as the most well designed magazines.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the website of the magazine.
  • Demonstrates creative, technical and analytical skills.
  • Works with the sales team to ensure that agreed advertisements are carried in the right place and at the right time.
  • Supports the company’s social media by participating with comments and posts.
  • Design skills: Knowledge and experience in graphics design, layout, typography, spatial orientation, freehand graphics, and basic design elements. Creative skills and detail oriented.
  • Photography skills: experience in creative photography, knowledge to fulfill artwork in a multi-media platform. This includes determining papers, colors, printing processes, and camera ready output. Good handling and manipulation of images.
  • Computer skills: computer design software systems such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
  • Workload Organization Skills: This position requires someone who can prioritize, organize, and manage a substantial workload. This includes being able to complete jobs in a timely manner or on a specified deadline. This skill set also involves being able to finish jobs in less time than quoted in order to maximize profitability. This person should work in tandem with others in the sales department, sharing responsibility of workloads, quality control and the like.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments. Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Qualification: A bachelor’s referred, but not required in lieu of experience computer information systems, graphic design, photography, computer science or knowledge in a related discipline. A Bachelors degree is preferred in Fine Arts.
  • Experience:  2-3 years of graphic, web design and development experience preferred. Related experience within the advertising industry is preferable.
