Job for Chief Program Officer at DOAM Foundation

DOAM Foundation, a fast growing Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with core focus on the Education and Health Care of orphaned and vulnerable children, is seeking for a well-qualified candidate to fill the position of: 

Job Title: Chief Program Officer

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the organization’s long term goals and strategies
  • Effectively monitor projects and provide technical support and obtain evidence based/assessment of progress of projects
  • Develop and maintain very good working environment for optimum staff performance
  • Research and maintain a knowledge base to further develop and enhance the capacity of orphaned and vulnerable children (OVCs)
  • Engage and assist less privileged communities in defining their life improving needs and building community driven strategies to address these needs.
  • Any other duties as defined by the Board of the Foundation.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the Foundation’s operational policies and procedures
  • Ensure that the financial management system is effective and efficient
  • Develop and maintain very good working relationships with existing and potential benefactors
  • Take the lead for fund raising, including identifying, developing and cultivating relationships with potential benefactors interested in education and healthcare programs particularly for the less privileged children.

Job Specifications

  • Strong and natural passion for Humanitarian works.
  • Strong first Degree in any of the Social Sciences. A higher degree will be an advantage
  • A minimum of 10 years solid experience in Educational and or healthcare establishments plus at least 5 years hands on experience in NGO sector.
  • Clearly demonstrated management and Leadership skills working with programs
  • Self motivated leader with excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork and integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good resource planning, organization and utilization skills.
  • Intellectual agility and the ability to analyze think critically and understand issues and trends in the non- profit sector.
  • Unquestionable ethics and personal integrity.
