We are recruiting to fill the below position:

Job Title: Recruitment Officer

Purpose Statement

  • To provide support to the recruitment and selection process to ensure that Sahara Group attracts and recruits the best suitable applicants for identified vacancies.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Experience with recruiting, technical recruiting a plus.
  • Proven candidate sourcing and relationship building skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to collect and interpret data-based Recruitment KPI’s
  • Skills in database management and record keeping

Minimum Qualification/ Experience:

  • B.Sc. degree in a relevant field from a reputable University
  • Maximum of 3 years (Post-NYSC) experience as a Recruitment Specialist (either in-house or within a recruitment agency)
  • Relevant professional HR Certification would be an added advantage.

Personality Traits:

  • Ability to keep confidential records.
  • Quick self-starter, multi-tasking and follow-through abilities.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate level of confidentiality with employee sensitive data
  • High methodical working methods are required.
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours
  • Candidate must able to network with peers and other stakeholder

Key Deliverables

  • Leverage all recruiting channels, including internal career site, both traditional and alternative sources to identify and recruit the very best candidates
  • Conduct interviews, sharing feedbacks about candidates and tracking their profiles in recruitment system
  • Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, social media, and employees.
  • Use social and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates.
  • Manage all recruitment administrative functions relating to the recruitment and selection process such as:
    • Prepare interview packs and arrange tests (such as pre-employment checks) and criminal checks.
    • Arrange psychometric assessments with candidates’ successful after the first round of interviews.
    • Arrange psychometric feedback with recruiting Line Managers, as part of the recruitment process
    • Send out rejection letters based on interview panel findings and line manager to give candidate proper feedback regarding growth opportunities and gaps.
    • Sift/Screen Shortlist applications according to job requirements.
    • Forward all shortlisted applications to Line Managers for further shortlisting.
    • Interview the selected candidates following the recruitment process to shortlist for interview
  • Among other potential recruiting and hiring measurements, collect data on cost-per-hire and time to hire.
  • Work closely with candidates to finalize recruitments to acceptance of offer
  • Ensure completion of correct documentation and approvals
  • Contribute to other HR duties as required.
