Job Title: AVADAR Project Assistant

Purpose Of the Position

  • The main objective of the post is to support the implementation of AVADAR in the state through technical guidance of the AVADAR SOPs, supportive supervision and providing on site trainings to HWs and CIs.

Description of Duties
Under the overall guidance of the IVE Focal person and over all supervision of Zonal Coordinator and guidance of the state coordinator the& AVADAR project assistant will carry out the following specific task:

Coordination:

  • Working with the project coordinator to ensure that there is constant communication on the project from the field level to the state and eventually to national level.
  • Support the set-up of meetings be they physically or virtually
  • Perform other responsibilities that may be required of him

Operations:

  • Support the preparations and implementation of for the trainings
  • Ensure that AVADAR SOPs are followed in LGA implementation sites
  • Conduct monitoring and supervisory visits to end user
  • Support the process of payment incentive for the notification of an AFP case that yields a polio virus
  • Support the quarterly review meeting of the project
  • Provide weekly/monthly report on the project including tracking information of the project indicators

Required Qualifications
Education:

  • Essential: Degree in Social or Health Sciences or Health related fields.
  • Desirable: Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, GIS or data management related field will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • At least 4 years’ experience in health related data management – Essential
  • Experience in quality data collection, analysis, dissemination, and use of health information for program planning and management.  -Essential
  • Experience in database development. – Essential
  • Working knowledge of statistical application programs (EPI INFO, SPSS, STATA etc.) and mapping programs (HealthMapper, QGIS etc) – Essential
  • Relevant work experience in WHO/UN – Desirable
  • Resident in the state of assignment – Desirable
  • Ability to travel within the state and knowledge or previous work in these state would be an advantage – Desirable

Job Title: Administrative Clerk

Objectives of the Programme

  • The objective of the post is to support  the BFO/Administration  unit to handle the  day to day  Management of WHO’s Health Emergencies programme on daily basis.
  • The work of Budget coordination for the planned activities, and the disbursement as per the requirement of the Technical lead.
  • Coordinates invoices submitted by creditors, seek clearance by the leading Technical Unit, and receipt of certification by BFO for disbursement.
  • Work closely under supervision BFO to conduct the day to day Administrative work  in  timely manner.

Description of Duties
The specific functions of the incumbent are:

  • Assist the Admin Assistant in the maintenance of financial records and monitoring systems to record and reconcile expenditures, balances statement and confirming adequacy of support documents as well as in rendering of monthly Imprest reports.
  • Assist in preparing payment schedules/bank instructions including upload into electronic payment platforms.
  • Assists with maintenance of petty cash account and replenishment of same.
  • Assist with disbursement of SIAs funds including payment site monitoring and report.
  • Assist in transport planning including monitoring of usage of hired vehicles, fueling of vehicle fleets and generator maintenance.
  • Collects and deliver mails, pouches and other communication from and to courier companies, government agencies and other institution; maintains a mail movement register.
  • Performs any other relevant duties that may be assigned from time by the SC or AA

Required Qualifications
Education:

  • Essential: Completion of Secondary education, preferably supplemented by a Diploma in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Desirable: Training in accounting/bookkeeping or equivalent work-related experience

Experience:

  • Essential: At least 2 years’ experience commensurate with the duties of the posts and its grade in an international, public or private organization of repute
  • Desirable: Experience in working with bilateral or multilateral International Organizations in the country is an Advantage

Skills:

  • Proven skills on standard office software; Proficient in Microsoft Excel;Training in Oracle or other ERP system.

Under the supervision of  the Communication Officer and over all guidance of Emergency Manager, the incumbent will under take the following  specific tasks:

  • Design and layout all print communication materials including banners, posters leaflets
  • Follow up with vendors on the production of all communication materials to meet deadlines
  • Create and maintain photo library accessible to all staff to upload and download photos for presentation and reports
  • Set up and monitor news alerts for critical reports about WHO humanitarian response in the North East, Nigeria
  • Provides logistics, clerical and administrative support during communication related meetings and workshops, assignments and related events
  • Provide photographic coverage of all public events organized & supported by WHO
  • Perform any other tasks as may be assigned by the communications officer

Required Qualifications
Education:

  • Essential: Completion of Secondary Education, preferably supplemented with training in Graphic Design, computer applications and design from a recognized higher institution.
  • Desirable: University degree or Diploma in graphic design from a recognized higher institution with training in computer applications and design would be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Essential: At least 2 years working experience in the handling of health related graphic designs for the UN or any other international organization.
  • Desirable: Experience in data collection, analysis and use of health information to produce behavioural change communication products

Skills:
