The Reading and Numeracy Activity (RANA) is a UNICEF-funded early primary grades reading pilot project implemented in partnership with FHI 360 in collaboration with the governments of Katsina and Zamfara states. RANA aims to improve literacy and numeracy for girls and boys in primary grades 1-3 in the supported states. It will assist approximately 100 formal Schools and Integrated Qur’anic Schools (IQS in each of the states.

Job Description

  • Finance & Admin Officer Under the direction of the State Program Officer, the Finance & Administrative Officer will be responsible for the provision of administrative and logistical services to the Finance directorate.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business administration
  • 3-5 Years experience with administrative and secretarial skills
  • Sound accounting skills
  • Experience with large complex organization is required, familiarity with international NGOs preferred.

Job Description

  • Senior Compliance Officer will carry out independent appraisals of the effectiveness of policies, procedures and standards by which AHNi’s financial resources are managed.
  • S/he will review and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, reliability of financial reporting, compliance with applicable laws and the safeguard of assets.
  • S/he will plan, perform and report back on internal audits to ensure that financial control, financial guidelines of funder organizations and other control procedures in purchasing, procurement and contracting are in place and are being properly implemented and managed within AHNi offices.
  • S/he will also be responsible for advising and monitoring quality standards and ensuring value for money.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

  • B.Sc in Accounting or Finance with 9-11 years relevant experience with international development programs that includes 3-5 years of supervisory experience in internal control function
  • MS/MA in Accounting or Finance or related field with 7-9 years relevant experience with international development programs and includes 3-5 years of supervisory experience in internal control function
  • Experience in accounting and accounting principles sufficient to prepare complex and detailed financial and budgetary analyses
  • Experience in financial reporting, and financial management systems applications
  • Familiarity with USAID or similar donor-funded programs is required
  • CPA, ACA, ICAN, CIMA, CFE or any other relevant professional qualification is required
  • Overseas internal control experience is an advantage.

  • Finance & Admin Assistant will be responsible for the provision of accounting, administrative, and logistical support services to the state office, will also assists the FAO in arranging travel logistics for zonal office staff, consultants and training participants including hotel reservations and where required, arranging airport and hotel pick-ups.

Job Description

  • Project Driver will under the direction of the Senior Administrative Officer, the driver shall provide a variety of transportation support to the project, Convey AHNI Global Fund Project Staff and Consultants to designated approved locations.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

  • Secondary School Leaving Certificates, apprentice certificate or any other equivalent certificates with a minimum of 1 year experience.
  • Must have a trade test certificate and a valid driving license.
  • Must have expert knowledge of Project Vehicle driving rules and regulations.
  • Experience as a driver mechanic will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with large complex organization preferred

Job Description

  • System Enhancement Accountant will be responsible for Continuous improvement of financial systems and compliance levels at the State offices in the country
  • Working with the Compliance Unit to identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk: prioritizes areas to be addressed, then, working with staff to develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

Minimum Recruitment Standards

  • B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 5-7 years relevant experience, or
  • MSc. in Accounting, Finance and Business Administration or its recognized equivalent, and 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in accounting and accounting principles sufficient to prepare complex and detailed financial and budgetary analyses.
  • Experience in financial reporting, and financial management systems applications.
  • Experience with USAID-funded programs and non-governmental organizations in Nigeria.
  • CPA, ACA or recognized equivalent is required.
  • Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is an advantage.
  • Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above
