History and vision: Created in June 2012 and formally incorporated as La Fayette Microfinance Bank Ltd, Advans Nigeria is the seventh greenfield of the Advans Network. Advans Nigeria’s objective is to target MSMEs in urban areas of Nigeria, where market studies have shown that only one in ten entrepreneurs has access to credit.

Network: Advans Nigeria opened its first branch in Ibadan, the country’s third largest city, at the end of January 2013. A second branch opened in May 2013 and two further branches in early 2014. In the coming years, Advans Nigeria plans to continue its expansion to cover other regions of Oyo State, home to about 5.5 million inhabitants.

Job Title: Client Officer

  • Qualification: OND   BA/BSc/HND
  • Location: Kwara, Lagos, Oyo

Main responsibilities and tasks include, but not limited to the following:

Commercial activities

  • To organize and participate in prospection and communication actions in the zoneof intervention (markets and commercial areas) by collaborating with the other client officers
  • To introduce Advans La Fayette MFB products and services to target population
  • To follow up the prospects by a regular contact with the identified potential clients
  • To propose the new products and services to his/her current clients
  • To identify clients’ needs and propose new products/services to the management

Loan activities

  • To assist the clients for loan application
  • To conduct an accurate loan appraisal and to collect detailed information (personal, business, guaranties) on the field.
  • To present the loan request at the Loan committee
  • To monitor the loan portfolio and to follow the timely repayment
  • To organize recovery actions in case of late repayment
  • To maintain a regular contact with clients by organizing visit on the field
  • To become a respected and active stakeholder in the intervention zone by spending most of the time on the field and creating a trusty relationship with small businessmen/women.
  • To become a specialist of small businesses Savings and deposits activities
  • To organize and participate in prospection and communication actions in the zone of intervention (markets and commercial areas) by collaborating with the other client officers
  • To introduce Advans La Fayette MFB’s financial services to target population
  • follow up on these prospects to create a strong deposit portfolio

Administrative tasks

  • To keep complete and detailed documentation on each client
  • To input and update client data in the MIS
  • To create deposit accounts in the MIS
  • To create and update loon applications in the MIS

Organization and control

  • To prepare a weekly planning with the expected tasks and visits to be done
  • To share information and best practices with the other client officers
  • To report all the issues related to the job with the Branch Manager
  • To analyse the client portfolio by using operational reports.

Job Title: Junior Network Administrator

  • Qualification: BA/BSc/HND

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASK

 

  •  To manage and maintain the computer equipment, software, applications and telecom and optimize its use.
  •  To manage the cabling: connection, change, maintenance, ventilation and fault detection.
  •  To install, update and configure the operating system and applications of the user’s environment: desk, services and network.
  •  To monitor daily operations.
  •  Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer’s networks and in house servers

PERSON SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION:  Minimum of first degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related course of study is required. Relevant professional qualification(s) and certification(s) will be an advantage.

WORK EXPERIENCE:  

A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role with General knowledge of systems and network architecture. Good knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating system and Knowledge of Radio and Telecom will be an asset.

SKILLS:

  • Proven experience in a network administrator role
  • Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
  • Great at organising, prioritising and multitasking
  • Cisco CCNA or other related certification required

Job Title: Client Assistant / Teller

  • Qualification: BA/BSc/HND

Commercial activities

  • To welcome and inform the customers and potential customers at the branch
  • To open accounts for new customers
  • To conduct information meetings organized in the branch for potential clients
  • To participate to collective prospection and other commercial activities in the market areas with the client officers
  • Administrative activities
  • To make arrangements of branch planning (Loan committee meeting, Client officer planning…)
  • To ensure the branch document are filed in a due manner, keeping the La Fayette MFB standards
  • To manage the MIS by creation of clients, loan and deposit accounts.
  • To prepare all the contract documents before signature by clients and branch manager
  • Control
  • To control the loan appraisal form and the client file before loan committee meeting, loan disbursement and after signature.
  • To share information and best practices with the other branch staff
  • To report all the issues related to the job with the Branch Manager
  • To use the reporting tools for control and analysis

TELLER

  • To welcome clients at the counter and if needed, introduces them to the most relevant person / another teller
  • To carry out all cash related transactions (loan release, repayments, cash deposit/withdrawal on the various deposit accounts)
  • To ensure all cash transactions are done according to Advans La Fayette MFB policies and procedures
  • To respect AML/KYC policies by identifying all the clients and reporting any suspicious transaction
  • To strictly adhere to the MIS requirements when registering all cash transactions in the MIS system
  • To report any cash shortage or overage to the immediate superior/ branch manager
  • To establish and maintain good and clear working relationship with other branch staff
  • To deal with clients in a friendly and professional manner such as to strengthen the Advans La Fayette MFB public image
  • To participate to the field promotion of Advans La Fayette MFB products and services

Job Title: Deposit Officer / Mobile Teller

Manage a portfolio of clients

  • Prospect potential clients and follow up through regular contact with prospects
  • Manage the relationship with clients in the portfolio to ensure maximum clients satisfaction and retention.
  • Organize an efficient schedule that will allow regular meetings with clients and maximized performance.
  • Identify clients’ needs in order to cross sell effectively.
  • Monitor the deposits of the clients under supervision
  • Grow the individual deposit portfolio in line with the targets set by the Management by offering quality service and selling products that fit the particular clients’ needs.

Field Cash Collection activities

  • Ensure all cash transactions are done according to LFMFB policies and procedures.
  • Respect AML/KYC policies by identifying all the clients and reporting any suspicious transaction.
  • Report any cash shortage or overage to the immediate superior / Branch manager
  • Encourage clients to make deposits on their Advans account.
  • Create new clients and accounts on the field.
  • Organization and control
  • Cash counts and controls: ensure and control the conformity of transactions with collected cash and monitoring tools
  • Ensure compliance of all operations performed with Advans policies and procedures.
  • Share information and best practices with other Deposit Officers / Mobile Tellers
  • Report all the issues related to the job to the Team Leader.
