Job Title: Medical Doctor
Location: 
Kano

Purpose of the position

  • The clinic Medical Doctor will treat common acute and chronic medical conditions, provide basic pediatric services, vaccination, and basic trauma care. We are currently recruiting a highly trained and motivated General Physician (GP) to provide clinical services to our clientele.

What you’ll do
To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:

  • He/She will treat patients in an outpatient clinic setting to ensure proper disease diagnosis, injury care, treatment and recovery, request necessary tests and follow-up visits and refer patients to specialists as necessary.
  • The GP  will document care delivered and follow up care required using an Electronic Medical Record software.
  • Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
  • Some situations will require the GP to coordinate with local and national hospitals to determine local capabilities, coordinate referrals, monitor and arrange final disposition.
  • The GP will have a leadership role in the clinic.
  • He/She will work closely with the Finance Manager, eHA leadership and Kano clinic Medical Advisor to provide excellent clinical care in a financially sustainable manner.
  • He/She will work closely with health insurance companies and pharmacy benefits managers for care coordination and insurance reimbursement.
  • He/She will manage and supervise a team of 3-4 nurses to deliver clinical care at patients’ homes.
  • He/She will consult with consultant physicians nationally and internationally using telemedicine.
  • He/She will strictly adhere to treatment guidelines and clinic protocols developed by the Medical Advisor in line with current Best Practices and clinical evidence.
  • He/She will respect patient privacy and confidentiality and treat patients with compassion and professionalism.
  • Adheres to Policies and Procedures.
  • Adheres to eHealth Africa Code of Conduct as well as ethical standards of the field.

Who you are

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical College with High Distinction (Top 10% of graduating class).
  • Must have current clinical experience in direct patient care and have worked a minimum of 24 months in a 20+ bed hospital in the last 3 years.
  • Hold and maintain a current medical license to practice in Nigeria.
  • Ability to pass a written knowledge test and interview.
  • Certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics, Advanced Trauma Life Support highly desired.
  • Diagnose and treat common acute conditions such as malaria, typhoid, pneumonia, infectious diarrhea, sexually transmitted infections, intestinal parasitosis etc.
  • Diagnose and treat chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, asthma, peptic ulcers, musculoskeletal pain etc.
  • Knowledge and skills to provide vaccination.
  • Knowledge and skills to perform minor trauma care including suturing, plaster casting, I&D, debridement etc.
  • Knowledge and skills to stabilize trauma patients prior to transport to higher level of care.
  • Proficient in using a computer for patient care, documentation and communication.

Purpose of the Position 

  • The Laboratory Scientist will be expected to provide first-class services by applying skills and scientific knowledge to support accurate medical diagnoses and the well being of our patients.
  • In this role, you will perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in diagnosing, monitoring, treating and preventing disease.

What You’ll do 
The Laboratory Scientist  will work in the EHA clinic predominantly as stated below:

  • You’ll collect and analyze body fluids, tissue and other substances to determine normal or abnormal findings.
  • You’ll operate sophisticated equipment and instruments to identify the results. Both technicians and technologists perform tests and procedures that physicians or other healthcare personnel order.
  • Maintains quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced troubleshooting; calibrating equipment utilizing approved testing procedures; monitoring quality control measures and protocols.
  • Identifies and communicates abnormal results by alerting supervisory personnel, the pathologist, the patient physician, or nurse.
  • (Toxicology) identifies the presence or quantity of drugs of abuse, therapeutic drugs, and toxic substances by operating toxicology instrumentation and performing manual methods for the performance of drug screens, blood alcohol levels, and carbon monoxide levels.
  • (Chemistry) provides test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating chemistry equipment; performing hand chemistries.
  • (Hematology) provides test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation equipment; performing manual methods of differentials.
  • (Immunology) provides test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating equipment such as the gamma counter, spectrophotometer, densitometer, and through methods such as radioimmunoassay, enzyme immunoassay, and serological testing.
  • (Microbiology) provides physician with information for treatment of patient infection by performing technical procedures for the identification or susceptibility of bacteria, parasites, fungi, and mycobacteria.
  • (Blood bank) ensures the patient of receiving compatible blood/blood components by completing blood typing, antibody screening, compatibility testing, and antibody identification procedures.
  • (Blood bank) assures future retrieval of patient transfusion information by preparing patient packets and maintaining blood bank database.
  • Organizes work by matching computer orders with specimen labeling; sorting specimens; checking labeling; logging specimens; arranging reports for delivery; keeping work surfaces clean and orderly.
  • Using a Lab Information Management System for specimen tracking, results en tray and reporting.
  • Contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers by following established standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Maintains patient’s confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential.
  • Serves and protects the Diagnostic firm by adhering to professional standards, laboratories policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and other pre-specified standards.

Summary

  • The Driver will work under the direct supervision of the Associate Fleet and would be responsible for operating eHealth Africa’s motor vehicles.
  • S/he is responsible for safely and responsibly performing all official travel using official vehicles regularly servicing and looking after official vehicles taking account of all available information on road conditions, accessible routes and locations running official errands and assisting with other office work

Essential duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Transports employees and other individuals as directed, in a safe and responsible manner; this includes, shuttle transportation for campaigns, projects, airport and distributions runs. Greets employees and individuals warmly.
  • Ensures vehicle is in proper and safe condition prior to use. Reports any damages or mechanical malfunctions and provides recommendations for repairs.
  • Observes traffic rules and regulations and maximum speed limits prescribed.
  • Keeps assigned vehicles clean, free from damage, and in acceptable condition consistently.
  • Reports for work on time and at specified location. Wears the appropriate outfits and footwear (closed toe shoes).

Availability, willingness and flexibility to travel outside assigned site area for periods lasting as long as 3-4 days at a time. Such out-of-town travel may be necessary as often as every six weeks or eight times per year. Travel accommodations and per diem will be provided for out-of town assignments

Job Title: Deputy Manager, Warehouse
Location:
 Rann, Borno

Purpose of the Job

  • The Deputy Warehouse  Manager, works under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager to effectively oversee inventory and coordinate handling and storage procedures.
  • The deputy warehouse manager will ensure that all commodities at the warehouse are handled and stored in a safe, timely and coordinated manner.
  • S/He will assist in managing the inventory system and keep abreast of the costs that are involved in the management of commodities at the warehouse. Generally support the operations at eHA’s storage facilities as requested.

What you’ll do
To perform this role successfully, the Deputy Warehouse Manager will perform the following responsibilities which may include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the coordination and tracking of store movement and goods supplies. Keep accurate waybill records.
  • Work closely with the manager in the management of stock using the internal warehouse and stock management procedures.
  • Perform a variety of tasks related to the Asset Management function. Log all new assets in the asset register and ensure the appropriate coding and labeling of assets. Update asset register regularly with changes and new acquisitions.
  • Perform various warehousing tasks and operations using dedicated software applications and databases.
  • Provide weekly warehouse report, asset database and inventory tracking report to the warehouse manager.
  • Meet warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
  • Meet warehouse financial standards by monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  • Move inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from the warehouse; coordinating inventory transfers with related departments.

  • Minimum 2 years of progressively related experience, with at least 1 years supporting fair and open procurements including conducting cost/price analyses, preferred vendor negotiations, and working within US government regulations.
  • Experience working with US government-funded acquisition and assistance instruments preferred.
  • 1 year experience with an NGO at a supervisory level.
  • Must have an understanding regarding health and safety for self, others.

Job Title: Pharmacist

Purpose of the Position

  • The Pharmacist will assist with the dispensing of medications, check prescriptions, and provide advice to patients on the medicines that have been prescribed for the patients.
  • S/he will ensure adequate supply of pharmacies through smart inventory management, review of actual usage, and review of re-order levels. The Pharmacist will develop and implement strategic initiatives and services in the pharmacy sector.

What You’ll do
The Pharmacist will work in the EHA clinic predominantly as stated below:

  • As a pharmacist you will be responsible for preparing and dispensing medications to patients. You will achieve this either by executing a physician’s order or by addressing the patient’s problems and needs.
  • The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge. A pharmacist does not merely hand out prescribed medicine; he/she has the expertise and willingness to assist people and provide them with information and solutions.
  • The pharmacist must be fully qualified to interpret symptoms so that the patient can either be given immediate treatment for a trifling condition or to be referred to the suitable doctor. Pharmacists must also be able to provide professional advice on cosmetics or parapharmaceuticals.
  • The goal is to ensure effective medication use and become the people’s trusted ally against health issues. That way you can deliver maximum value to both the pharmacy and society.
  • Reviewing and executing physician’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
  • Organizing the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
  • Maintaining full control over delivering, stocking and labeling medicine and other products
  • Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Who You are

  • A minimum of three years progressive experience in Pharmacy within the private and public sector. Experience working with public health and health systems is an advantage.
  • Candidates should have B.Sc Pharm and must be a registered member of Pharmacists council of Nigeria (PCN) with at least 3 years post NYSC experience.
  • Candidates should have experience in managing hospital pharmacy.
  • Encouraging to medical team and patients; able to mentor and lead.
