We are recruiting to fill the positions below:

 

Job Title: Container Reach Stacker
Location: 
Lagos
Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the Reach stacker / Empty Handler for receiving / loading / Shifting in the stack.
  • Inspects equipment at beginning of work to ensure that all the parts are operating properly.
  • Identifies and reports any safety problems, malfunctions, or damage to yard handling equipment, before work hours.
  • Follows safe operating procedures and instructions, preventing any injury to persons, or damage to containers and other equipment and property.
  • Carries out duties and tasks in an efficient, productive manner.

Job Requirements
Who we are looking for?

  • Two or more years of heavy vehicle driving like cranes etc. or similar work experience
  • Must understand operating heavy vehicles
  • Understands and observes safety requirements for driving heavy vehicles within a disciplined environment
  • Requires Basic English language skills
  • Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to stack containers 4+ high in the yard
  • Efficient at digging out boxes
  • Additional experience on counterbalance forklifts desirable

 

Job Title: Container Reach Engineer
Location:
 Lagos
Key Responsibilities
The Container Reach Engineer has the following specific responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe and correct running of the main engine, auxiliary engines, and all such primary/secondary equipment and systems, in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions and in keeping with Company procedures.
  • Understand the parameters to ensure efficient maintenance and operation of engine plants, i.e. fuel efficiency, power analysis, and systems heat balance.
  • Ensure that engineering personnel conduct all work in accordance with site and company safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure that all container-handling equipment is maintained to the highest possible standards in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and that equipment availability is maintained at an optimum level.
  • Implement and continually develop all necessary maintenance programmers, systems and procedures to enable the department to function effectively.
  • Attend daily meetings with Engineering Superintendents /Terminal Manager to review all relevant issues.
  • Produce appropriate statistical and financial reporting for terminal manager and senior management.
  • Ensure that the engines are correctly tuned to achieve maximum fuel efficiency
  • Monitor and optimize fuel consumption
  • Control and coordinate all engineering activities within the container terminal and provide technical support to all engineering personnel.
  • Ensure that the engineering department provides a fully functional, effective and flexible workforce, maintaining high standards of workmanship.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Excellent man management, organizational and supervisory skills
  • Ability to function effectively under pressure and use initiative in problem solving.
  • Computer literate and familiar with typical office applications including database applications.
  • Must have extensive experience in a heavy industrial engineering environment incorporating large capacity cranes and drives, several years of which should be at managerial level.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
