Giantability Media Network is a Christian organization that hosts Livinghope Christian International Magazine, which is published bi-monthly in the electronic and hardcopy format.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Video Editor
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Ensure videos are cut and edited to the highest standards
- Edit voice over videos, packages and programmes in conjunction with editorial staff
- Collaborate with staff to brainstorm on content topics
- Edit video content to suit different online platforms using appropriate software
- Improve content by adding music, sound, film or artwork
- Ensure all video content meets quality standards
- Liaising with producers and developing animation from script to screen
- Creating storyboards that depict the script and narrative
- Drawing in 2D to create sketches, artwork or illustrations
- Designing models, backgrounds, sets, characters, objects and the animation environment
- Developing the timing and pace of the movements of a character or object during the sequence of images and ensuring they follow the soundtrack and audio requirements
- Using technical software packages, such as Flash, 3ds Max, Maya, LightWave, Softimage and Cinema 4D
- Building up accurate, detailed frame-by-frame visuals
- Recording dialogue and working with editors to composite the various layers of animation (backgrounds, special effects, characters and graphics) in order to produce the finished piece
- Working to production deadlines and meeting clients' and company commercial requirements
- Working as part of a broader production team, which might include liaising with copywriters,photographers, designers, reporters, website designers or marketing specialists
Critical Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Must be a Christian
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of one-year experience editing in television news production
- Advanced keyboard skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Excellent Interpersonal Relations
- Time Management Skills
- Attention to detail
- Proven work experience as a digital editor
- Digital editing skills with an exceptional portfolio of published work
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (Lightworks, Premiere,
- After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Cinema 4D)
- Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
- Strong experience in Graphics and layout design
- Creative mind
- Communication skills.
Job Title: Cinematographer
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
This includes both set-up and operation:
- Work alongside directors to give films, TV shows, music videos and television commercials their own unique aesthetic style
- Responsible for managing camera and lighting equipment, oversee the selection and manipulation of technical equipment to create striking images on screen.
- Drive the visual impact of a film by creative choices about the use of different lenses, filters, lighting techniques and camera movements to create dramatic effect and prompt different emotional responses from the audience.
- Partly responsible for making decisions about aspect ratio, digital effects, image contrast, and frame rates
- Planning the technical execution of each shot
Critical Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Must be a Christian
- B.Sc/B.A/Diploma in Cinematography, Video directing, Fine Art, Design or relevant field;
- Have knowledge of film-specific photography equipment and techniques, such as film cameras on dollies, hand-held cameras, drones, the Steadicam and blue screen
- Proven experience as a cinematographer or in a similar creative role
- Hands-on experience in the creative process, digital camera, graphic design and brand development Excellent working knowledge of software such as Adobe Premiere Pro,
- Photoshop, InDesign, and After Effects etc
- Exemplary interpersonal and analytical abilities
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Self-motivated and self-directed Good communication skills.
Job Title: Chief Correspondent (Northern Region)
Location: Abuja
Responsibilities
- Cover key Christian events and personalities in Northern Nigeria (specifically but not solely Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Niger, Nasarawa)
- Increase the merchantability of Livinghope Magazine and the Giantability brand in the area
- Turn in high quality reports on a weekly basis
Critical Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Must be a Christian
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of two year cognate experience in journalism
- Experience in online/broadcast journalism is an added advantage
- Digital savviness
- Excellent Interpersonal Relations
- Ability to keep to deadlines
- Ability to establish and maintain contact with key religious figures in the region.
