Nigerian Prisons Service Recruitment, NPS Warns Against Scammers

NPS disclosed that the scammers were seeking to exploit its current recruitment exercise by soliciting payment from unsuspecting job seekers in order to facilitate their employment into the service.

A statement issued by NPS spokesperson, Francis Enobore warned members of the public not to deal with anyone with such proposition.

Enobore maintained that the service does not collect money from job seekers.

The statement reads: “It has come to the knowledge of the management of the Nigerian Prisons Service that a syndicate has been masquerading itself as a recruitment agency for the Nigerian Prisons Service, deceiving unsuspecting members of the public and collecting monies for the purpose of securing appointments for job seekers.

“Members of the public are hereby informed that: The Nigerian Prisons Service has a standard recruitment protocol and neither uses agent(s), syndicate(s), private individuals nor receives financial inducement for recruitment purposes.

“The Nigerian Prisons Service dissociates itself from such illicit dealings and members of the public are advised to disregard entreaties from such groups as they are fraudsters.

“Shortlisted applicants for interview will be informed in due course by the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prison Services Board (CDFIPB). “
