We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 


Job Title: 
CCCM Focal Point Officer
Locations:
 Banki/Damasak, Borno
Reporting to: Camp Manager
Slot: 2 Openings

Role Purpose

  • Support the camp manager in strengthening coordination and information sharing among stakeholders and with/within community, monitoring of service delivery, ensure maximum community engagement and managing cccm monitors.

Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of CCCM monitors
  • In absence of camp manager chair camp coordination meetings and support him/her in the organization of all coordination meetings at camp/site or LGA level
  • Weekly/Monthly report to camp manager or to sector through dedicated tool
  • Ensure that monthly activities plan are daily respected
  • Contribute at information dissemination and key messaging
  • Maintain relationship with relevant stakeholders
  • Engage community in activities and planning
  • Ensure gaps are monitored and address it through proper channel
  • Ensure that referrals are timely made, respecting confidentiality and data protection standards
  • Ensure that data gathered are reliable and properly stored
  • Support the Camp Manager in defining monthly procurement needs for activities
  • Ensure that CCCM Volunteers are properly engaged in activities
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications and Skills
Essential:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in humanitarian work
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in CCCM
  • Strong understanding of the situation of protection context in Borno State.
  • Proven Knowledge of IDP context in Nigeria
  • Proven knowledge of humanitarian principles
  • Proven knowledge of CCCM standards
  • Report and writing skills
  • Experience is staff management
  • Cultural sensitiveness
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel)
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Hausa language
  • Commitment to and understanding of INTERSOS’s aims, values and principles including rights- based approaches Application Process.
  • Good spoken and written English and relevant computer skills. Knowledge of Kanuri is an asset.

Desirable:

  • University degree in Social Sciences or related field
  • Previous experience in protection programs.

 

 

Job Title: Camp Manager
Location:
 Banki, Borno
Reporting to: Project Manager

Role Purpose

  • Under the supervision of Project Manager and in coordination with CCCM sector and donor (UNHCR), the Camp Manager supports the camp level coordination and is responsible for implementation of CCCM project activities, including base management and reporting.

Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with sector partners to assist for service provision, camp planning, development of facilities, schools, shelter and WASH to ensure plans for implementation are shared among partners and community members to avoid issues, delays and confusion among stakeholder;
  • Work closely with Shelter Lead for site planning and infrastructure development such as drainage and waste disposal, and encourage collaboration with WASH partners to ensure
  • HH are supported with appropriate number of WASH facilities, as per Sphere standards.
  • Conduct service monitoring across sectors in the camp to share a holistic understanding of services and standards in the camp.
  • Co-Chair the CCCM Coordination meetings with CCCM Monitor (FP), addressing each sector, field project and issues, developing action points and assigning agency/person responsible, following up to ensure matter was resolved.
  • Operate information dissemination boards and other channels of communicating information between agencies and the camp residents. Operate the information and complaint mechanism as per procedures.
  • Coordinate with other camp partners on dissemination of public announcements and messages.
  • Schedule all activities and events on the master calendar and post it on the information board. Update the information board when needed and ensure that the written language(s), design and information is understood and culturally appropriate
  • Organize daily, weekly and monthly assessments of camp services and sectors, planned and ongoing field projects including overall assessment of camp conditions and population well-being, following the Camp Management Checklist. Data collected will be included in a report template and sent to CCCM Coordinator each Friday.
  • Ensure – through clear weekly and monthly work plans –field assessment activities are carried out in a timely, effective and technically sound manner.
  • Support the collection of information/data about vulnerability, protection needs and concerns of the targeted population.
  • Liaise with relevant public authorities and services providers in order to foster effective collaboration and encourage national interest and ownership in protection of IDPs, refugees and other persons of concern.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential:

  • University degree in Social Sciences or related field
  • Previous professional experience in the humanitarian context; at least three (3) years of experience.
  • One (1) year of leadership experience in Camp Management position
  • Relevant protection professional experience of two(2) years, preferably in emergency and/or development context.
  • Prior experience working in Protection, GBV and familiarity with persons of concern (including internally displaced persons and refugees-returnees) would be an advantage
  • Familiarity with international protection and human rights legal standards, with special emphasis on women rights and SGBV, would be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of local communities and customary rules.
  • Excellent analysis and reporting skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of the situation of protection context in Borno State.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of Hausa language.
  • Strong writing skills
