  • The project is intended to develop and strengthen the education system in Adamawa and Gombe States which will enable it to deliver access to high quality education options that respond to the needs of all children without burdening it with addition cost that will result if parallel systems are created.
  • The project will work with state partners and national and international academic institutions to analyze and understand the situation, prepare strategies for various scenarios and test and apply the best fit purpose in each situation. In 3 years, the project will reach 200 schools, 5000 teachers and over 200,000 learners.

Summary of Position

  • The School Improvement Support Specialist will report to the deputy project director, instructional development.
  • S/he will be responsible for improving the skills and knowledge of state education managers to utilize data for teacher and school improvement purposes.

Position Requirements

  • MSc/MA in Sociology/Psychology, Economics or other social sciences
  • 5 years’ experience in community development activities
  • 3 years’ Experience in working with schools and parents
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • IT skills to be tested.

Deputy Director, Finance and Administration
Location

  • S/he will be in charge of all financial reports and supports the CoP with ensuring compliance with financial and administrative matters of the project.
  • S/he report to the Chief of Party

Position Requirements

  • BSc Accounting/Banking and Finance. A post graduate degree will be an advantage
  • Certified Accountant
  • 7 years’ Experience managing financial unit of USAID projects
  • Grant management experience for USAID projects
  • Experience in the use of financial accounting software (to be tested)
  • Experience in project audits
  • Experienced in managing finance and admin staff of projects
  • Knowledge of USAID financial regulations
  • Good trainer
  • Accounting skills will be tested
  • ICT skills will be tested.

  • BSc/HND in Computer science
  • 5 years’ experience managing project IT
  • Certified IT technician
  • Experience networking and wireless technology
  • Experience in setting up WAN/Lan systems
  • Highly skilled in computer hardware and software matters

  • MSC in Mathematics/Statistics with 7 years EMIS experience or
  • PhD in Mathematics/Statistics with 4 years EMIS experience
  • 7 years’ Experience designing and conducting education census
  • 5 years’ Experience in teaching
  • Versatile in use of statistical software (to be tested)
  • Superb ICT skills (to be tested)

  • S/he will also be responsible for security of staff both local and international while ensuring security of training venues and travel to sites. The position holder reports to the Chief of Party.

Position Requirements

  • BSc in Sociology and other social sciences with 5 years’ experience managing project security
  • MSC in security studies plus 2 years’ experience managing project security
  • At least 5 years’ experience in security profession
  • Retired military/police and or other security service
  • Experienced in the north east security field
  • Knowledge and experience of security equipment
  • Good understanding of child and women rights matters
  • Good network within Nigerian security profession
  • Good ICT Skills to be tested

  • Experienced in the north east security field
  • Knowledge and experience of security equipment

Job Title: Senior Human Resources Officer

  • The Senior Human Resource Officer will manage HR functions of the project.
  • S/he will be responsible for managing staff HRT matters and play a critical role in ensuring that staff rights and privileges are protected in particular the right of female members of staff.

  • BA Human Resources Management, plus 6 years’ experience
  • MA Human Resource management, plus 4 years’ experience
  • Good writing skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience in Nigeria labor laws (to be tested)

  • S/he is the representative of the Chief of Party in each state and will ensure that all staff adhere to project standards.
  • The position holder reports to the Chief of Party

Position Requirements

  • 2 years’ Experience in materials development in educational settings on a donor funded project

  • He will mentor state partners in the use of statistical software for education monitoring and planning while training them on reporting and use of the information.

Position Requirements

  • BSc in Mathematics/Statistics with 3 years EMIS experience or MSc in Mathematics/Statistics with 1 years EMIS experience
  • 1 years’ Experience participating in designing and conducting education census
  • 4 years teaching experience
  • Versatile in use of statistical software (to be tested)
  • Good ICT skills (to be tested)
