We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

Job Title: Case Worker Team Leader
Location:
 Monguno/Kukawa LGA, Borno
Reporting to: Protection Officer

Role Purpose

  • The Case Worker Team Leader is responsible for supervising and managing a team of Case Workers, ensuring that principles of case management are respected and that quality services are guaranteed to persons with protection concerns.
  • Support and coach Case Workers throughout the case management process and directly handle complex vulnerable cases as needed.

Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, implementation and reporting of the activities, as well as ensuring the well-being and positive working environment for all members of the team. Support positive team dynamics providing support and space for caseworkers to express emotions and experiences within the case management team
  • Meet regularly with Protection Officer to discuss about ongoing issues and strategy for the team
  • Supervise, support and coach Case Workers in their duties using various methods such as observation, shadowing, case file checks and bilateral case discussions and support the team in finding solutions and appropriate responses to daily challenges.
  • Act as referral focal point for INTERSOS protection case management in Monguno and Kukawa distribute the cases between the Case Workers according to the level of experience and complexity of case.
  • Ensure adherence of Case Workers to protection principles, Code of Conducts and internal SoPs. Conduct regular case audits to ensure that cases meet and maintain compliance with established SoPs and minimum standards in case management.
  • Monitor timescales for response, decision-making and follow-up through internal case management platform and according to priority of case ensuring timely and appropriate support.
  • Supervise the accuracy of the cases documentation through regular review of files and case management platform and provide feedback to Case Workers. Overview the proper filing and archiving of case management files to maintain data confidentiality
  • Review regularly staffs caseloads to ensure the quality of the case management and the respect of the minimum standards and discuss single cases and challenges as required.
  • Identify staff gaps and training needs and inform the Protection Officer for the actions needed
  • Respect key protection principles including but not limited to: do no harm, non- discrimination, confidentiality, accountability and need-to-know principles
  • Contribute to regular service mapping and update of service directory
  • Ensure good relationships and coordination with the main service providers in the area of intervention for the identification of specific needs in order to provide prompt referral, follow up and information sharing
  • Record and maintain database of GBV cases (GBVIMS-IR) and Protection concern (Excel) and provide month report to Protection Officer.
  • Conduct, Coordinate and supervise protection training/activities that are conducted in the community centers and communities;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor, Project Managers and Protection Coordinator.

Qualifications and Skills

  • University degree in a related field e.g. Social Work,
  • 2 years of relevant work experience including 1 year in a supervisory role
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
  • Ability and motivation to work well with local authorities, local leaders and local community;
  • Leadership, people management and development, teamwork and cooperation
  • Good problem solving and social skills and creative, to think of alternative solutions;

Job Title: M&E Officer – Protection
Location:
 Monguno/Kukawa LGA, Borno

Role Purpose

  • Main Purpose of the Job is to Support the Programs in all data collection, analysis, and learning activities to ensure accountability and efficiency.
  • Reporting to the M&E manager and closely working with the program staff

Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Participate in planning and undertaking surveys, rapid assessments, as well as in the monitoring and evaluation of the program activities especially in relation to Protection data;
  • Global Protection assessment, checklist, Incident record, KAP survey, FGD,KII
  • Development and strengthening of monitoring and evaluation procedures in the project.
  • Monitoring of all project activities progress towards achieving the project output and outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to Protection Officer and Program Manager on target, achievement and progress towards indicators including AGD marker.
  • Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project activities to the Program Managers in line with indicators.
  • Conduct capacity assessment on existing monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops and assist the Program Managers in preparing relevant reports.
  • Assist the project personnel with M&E tools and in supporting them in their use.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor, Project Managers and Protection Coordinator.

Qualifications and Skills

  • University Degree in Social Sciences or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in the design and implementation of M&E in development and emergency projects
  • Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports
  • Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software.
  • Ability to work independently and make good decisions with minimum supervision
  • Excellent command of English and local language oral and written

Job Title: Case Worker

Role Purpose

  • The case worker is responsible for assessing immediate protection needs, developing immediate care and treatment goals, and implementing and monitoring women, men and children clients’ care action plans.

Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular visit to meet with persons of concern within the community and identify individuals at risk and humanitarian needs;
  • Conduct interviews for intake and Global Protection Monitoring with individuals identified by the outreach worker or referred by other agencies, and open a case if vulnerability criteria are met
  • Conduct timely assessment and case management by creating a climate of trust and care, and implementing the action plan steps, case follow up and case closure as per standard guidelines ;
  • Ensure and referred basic emotional support for each case and for their close family members, as required;
  • Conduct individual assessments for the provision of material assistance, shelter kit and dignity kit or/and transportation costs for medical treatment, as required;
  • Refer clients to appropriate services and when necessary directly accompany them to different service providers as needed;
  • Ensure good relationships and coordination with the main service providers in the area of intervention to improve identification of persons with specific needs for prompt referral, follow up and information sharing.
  • Encouraged weekly internal case management meetings and make prompt reports/bring to the immediate attention any case of special/emergency needs to the Protection Officer;
  • Conduct with the service mapping assessment in the target areas and support the development of referral systems with different service providers and the local NGO/CBO partner;
  • Carry out all tasks respecting key protection principles, including but not limited to: do no harm, non-discrimination, confidentiality, accountability and need-to-know principles.
  • Ensure proper and safe filing and archiving of case management files and database to maintain data confidentiality
  • Plan and conduct service awareness with the Protection Officer and partner;
  • Support the Protection Officer to prepare monthly report on activities and conduct site visits to verify and assess activity implementation and the quality of services clients are referred to;
  • Identify and report gaps in the availability of services and quality of service provision for clients in the target areas.

  • Diploma in Social Sciences or related field
  • Minimum one year work experience with international/national NGOs and/or local authorities in the Nigerian context;

Job Title: Construction Engineer
Location:
 Maiduguri- Roving field locations (Damasak, Banki, Monguno, Ngala)
Reports to Logistic Coordinator

Role Purpose

  • Main purpose of the job is to provide support and oversight constructions and rehabilitation works

Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead all construction and rehabilitation related activities at mission level;
  • Prepare BoQ and all procurement related documentations
  • Supervise operational teams, contractors and communities, and ensure the best use of available resources
  • Allocate and train the on-site workforce according to instructions given by the Logistic Coordinator
  • Control the quality/quantity of the materials arriving in the construction sites
  • Carry out work according to technical guidelines and INTERSOS standards and policies
  • Control the quality of the implementation
  • Manage the supply of worksite materials
  • Take part to the evaluation of the technical competence of contractors
  • Collaborate with local authorities and administration for necessary arrangement in case of new construction
  • Support site preparation and planning
  • Take part to the Shelter Technical Working Group, when necessary
  • Support logistics activities in the field locations based on the needs

Qualifications and Skills

  • University Degree in Construction or related field

Job Title: Social Worker
Location:
 Monguno, Borno

Role Purpose

  • The Social worker is responsible to provide assistance to beneficiaries hosted in the reception centers and implement project related activities

Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to INTERSOS policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines as well Government rules and regulations.
  • Under supervision of Reception Manager Officer, receive new arrivals and register them
  • Conduct monitoring visits in Reception Center all in order to assess needs
  • Conduct social mobilization and awareness session in Reception Center
  • Conduct vulnerability screening of new arrivals at reception center
  • Referral of vulnerable individuals to specialize services according to their needs
  • Collaborate with other service providers at Reception Center
  • Conduct FGD and actively participate
  • Collecting data though given tools
  • Coordinate with other INTERSOS staff of other projects such as CCCM

Qualifications and Skills

  • University Degree in Social Science or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in humanitarian work
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in CCCM/Protection (Desirable)
  • Basic Knowledge of IDP context in Nigeria
  • Basic knowledge of CCCM standards
  • Experience is staff management
  • Cultural sensitiveness
  • Computer skills (KOBO)
