We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head, Financial Advisory

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Objective(s)

  • The Position Holder is responsible for leading deal origination, and delivery of financial advisory services to clientele on various complex assignments relating to mergers & acquisitions, debt restructuring & refinancing, management buy-outs / buy-ins, bond issuance, initial public offers & share re-issuance etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy: Define and implement the company’s business strategy in line with conditions in its operating environment and helping to drive the implementation of strategic initiatives that sustain / improve the company’s competitive advantage within its operating environment.
  • Relationship Building: Influences key stakeholders and manages ‘high value’ relationships at a strategic level to identify and build relationships with partners and stakeholders to support long term business development.
  • Deal Origination: Lead the origination of new deals / transactions by proactively working to establish the company’s credibility as an investment partner, aggressively pitching prospective clients to generate leads, and managing relationships with intermediaries.
  • Transaction Strategy: Responsible for overall strategy of a transaction, including negotiations, client interaction, and management of documentation.
  • Deal Execution: Responsible for leading the execution of acquired transactions from ensuring thorough due diligence, evaluation of financial, tax, and legal risks; understanding true cost of compliance, assessing fair market value of assets and liabilities; and determining feasibility of business plan given projections, and available resources.
  • Debt Restructuring: Responsible for helping clients improve business cash-flow, and avoid financial distress, by interfacing with financial institutions to negotiate the restructuring and / or refinancing of clients’ debt obligations, so as to allow them continue business operations.
  • Financial Modelling: Oversees the preparation of abstract models representing (possible) real-world financial models to support decision-making by key stakeholders on business valuations, scenario planning, capital budgeting, financial statement analysis, and project finance.
  • Client Advisory: Act as seasoned adviser to clients, providing independent opinion on complex financial transactions and scenarios, such as mergers & acquisitions, debt restructuring & refinancing, management buy-outs / buy-ins, bond issuance, initial public offers & share re-issuance etc.
  • Research: Oversee the preparation of extensive valuation and pricing analyses to support firm’s financial advisory activities.
  • Supports Team’s Development: Provides advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of cognate experience spanning corporate banking and / or capital market operations, with at least 5-7 years in leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
  • MBA or other advanced degree in finance.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA or similar professional qualification).

Job Title: Head, Investment Management

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Job Objective(s)

  • The Position Holder is responsible for providing leadership to the investment management function of the company, by contributing to the formulation of investment strategies, product development and process improvement initiatives; maintain coverage of assigned research responsibilities; ensuring efficient trade execution, portfolio administration and transaction processing; supporting Primary Portfolio Managers, and maintaining secondary responsibility for asset portfolio. In addition to the foregoing, the Position Holder would be expected to extensively collaborate with the company’s Managing Director and Board of Directors to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.
  • Develop Procedures and Processes: Produce and implement a manual of procedures and processes for all investment-related activities.
  • Trade Execution: Trade execution, including compilation and dissemination of approved portfolio trade orders to counterparties. The Position Holder is also responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate posting of portfolio and transaction data.
  • People Management: Responsible for driving and sustaining strategic people management practices that support the organization’s ability to achieve its corporate objectives through optimal talent resourcing, employee engagement, talent management, and people development.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build advantageous relationships across the firm, as well as with key decision-makers in organizations in which ARM either already has an existing relationship, or are in the organization’s client pipeline, in order to support the growth of the firm’s client-base and Assets Under Management (AUM), as well as its long-term business growth. The Position Holder is also required to sit on the executive, investment and mutual funds committees of the organization.
  • Investment Strategy: Active contribution to the development and implementation of strategies to improve the portfolio management function. The Position Holder is also responsible for the implementation of agreed investment strategies and action plans, and ensuring adherence to investment mandates and client profiles.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Leads market research and analysis efforts into uncovering both global and local macroeconomic trends, extensive research into various financial instruments, and in-depth review of mostly publicly traded companies, in order to understand current trends, and forecast future performance, with the aim of applying this knowledge to managing the firm’s
  • Manage Portfolio Performance: Develop portfolio performance benchmarks and targets based on factual market information on an annual basis, or at any other frequency interval requested.
  • Review Investment Proposals: Review proposals for investment in quoted equities, bonds, and money market securities.
  • Prepare funds management proposals to current and prospective clients.
  • Asset Allocation: Review on a constant basis, the asset allocation of mutual funds to ensure compliance with the trust deeds.
  • People Management: Responsible for driving and sustaining strategic people management practices that support the organization’s ability to achieve its corporate objectives through optimal talent resourcing, employee engagement, talent management, and people development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 – 15 years of work experience in similar role.
  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited university.
  • Professional certification in finance and/or accounting from a recognized professional body (e.g. CFA, CGMA, ACCA, ICAN etc.
