Job Title: Software Developer

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • The application developer role is a technology focused role intended to provide software development and analysis services to the group. This role is best suited to candidates with proven experience building production, commercial-quality web based solutions with technologies like JAVA, .NET and related technologies and also strong in depth SQL-Server development experience.
  • The candidate needs to be flexible and open to new ideas or change with the passion and drive to excel in their career. He must be self-directed, organized, and extremely attentive to details. Must possess strong analytical skills, be proactive, and acquire new technical skills as needed to perform job duties.

Experience and Qualifications
Ideal candidate should have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S/B.A), Computer Science, Computer or Electronic Engineering or similar experiences
  • 2-3 years delivery experience with Java or .NET technologies.
  • Considerable experience with Oracle database(Oracle 10g &11g)

The Application Developer will be expected to have aptitudes, skills, knowledge and experience on the following areas:

  • Demonstrable analytical skills with regard to specifying and detailing business processes and requirements.
  • 2-4 years of .Net or Java framework development experience
  • 1-2 years in writing C# ,HTML 5,Javascript and with SQL server
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, organizational skills, and be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

  • The role would suit someone with proven experience building production, commercial-quality web based applications (in C# 3.0, JAVA and above) that also has proven in depth SQL-Server development experience
  • Applicants must be comfortable with advanced SQL syntax, SQL Server Business Intelligence development and SQL Server (Oracle experience is highly desirable)

Responsibilities
Problem Solving:

  • The Application Developer will often be challenged with new problems to which they will need to rely on strong problem solving skills to resolve:
  • The ability to accurately identify the cause of a system/application malfunction, interpret that to management and their colleagues, document and propose resolutions
  • Fully understand structured methodologies (e.g. Agile) for using programming code to solve business problems
  • Ensure all changes and implementations are well tested and managed in a controlled manner with full rollback plans
  • Correctly identify when assistance is required and request it accordingly
  • Collaborate with the wider team in matters where their support is required.

Experience and Qualifications

Competencies
The Application Developer will be expected to have aptitudes, skills, knowledge and experience on the following areas:

  • Demonstrable analytical skills with regard to specifying and detailing business processes and requirements.
  • Delivery experience with .NET framework, including C#, ADO.NET, LINQ and ASP.NET.
  • 2-4 years delivery experience with Java.
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server (2005/2008/2012).
  • Extensive experience in the use of Oracle Database.
  • Experience with SQL data business intelligence (OLAP, etc…) preferred
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in HTML and DHTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Practical experience in Agile development methodologies
  • Ability to work both in a collaborative team environment and independently.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with implementation and testing of DB backups, restores and recovery models.
  • Database server deployment design, processes, and day-to-day operations, including monitoring and Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Formulation, management and execution of data test strategies, plans and delivery commitments in concert with business and project management efforts.
  • Mobile and web service development experience
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g.; JIRA, Bugzilla) and managed workflows
  • Experience with SharePoint 2010 and above preferred
  • Strong familiarity with source control systems (e.g. Team Suite)

 

Job Title: Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planner

Location: Lagos

Summary

  • Coordinates and implements business continuity efforts and disaster recovery planning for medium to highly complex assignments that comply with applicable regulations and organizational priorities.
  • Develops and conducts or assists with corporate awareness and training programs regarding business continuity and disaster recovery programs.
  • Consults with vendors, managers and subject matter experts across the organization to identify critical business processes and ensure adequate testing takes place.
  • Provides guidance and recommendations on the development and implementation of institution-wide disaster recovery management programs, including maturity models, methodologies, sourcing strategies, plans, metrics, testing contingency capabilities, reporting and scorecards for all components of the programs.
  • Develops risk management procedures, business continuity scenarios and contingencies and advises on business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure all plans are up to date and meet regulator and organizational requirements.
  • Leads all data collection, data analysis and risk analysis strategies to support the Business Impact Analysis and all related enterprise risk assessments.
  • Analyze documentation for completeness regarding business continuity tests and exercises, including the identification of critical points of failure and recommendations for remediation.
  • Responsible for business continuity and disaster recovery reports for management, regulators, and vendors including recommendation of risk management strategies.
  • Participates in all recovery drills and leads exercises of medium to high complexity.
  • Assists with business continuity and disaster recovery research efforts to ensure current plans reflect industry best practices.
  • Maintains and tests various communication methods, such as emergency notifications and call trees to ensure appropriate communications during unforeseen events.

Education/Years of Experience/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent years of experience required
  • 3-5 years of IT work experience in information systems support, administration, risk management, and disaster recovery.
  • Business Continuity Certified Professional Preferred.

Job Title: Linux / Unix (AIX) Systems Administrator

Location: Lagos

Summary

  • The Unix (AIX) / Linux Systems Administrator provides enterprise-wide systems support services for mission-critical systems in multiple data centers.
  • The Unix / Linux administrator provides technical services to include: systems design, planning, hardware/software installation, operations, maintenance, and upgrades to systems and infrastructure components which support the daily business functions.
  • The Linux/Unix Systems Administrator will help deploy, support, and maintain servers, virtual environments, storage, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report/publish storage and system performance in the UNIX / Linux environment.
  • Maintain and support the storage environment consisting of SAN, HP and Dell storage system
  • Maintain and support Microsoft infrastructure including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, Exchange and Lync.
  • Manage deployments using automated scripts and templates in virtual and bare metal environments.
  • Maintain and support the Aruba cloud infrastructure in AWS.
  • Harden servers and services to corporate standards and industry best practices.
  • Monitor systems availability and performance using commercial and open source tools.
  • Administer and maintain backup systems and other storage technologies.
  • Maintain and support the company VMware environment.
  • Respond to and resolve service incidents.
  • Perform root-cause analysis, instituting preventive measures where indicated.
  • Collaborate with departments across the company to accomplish team objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 – 3 years of System Administrator experience required
  • 2 – 3 years of Linux/Unix (AIX) system administration experience required
  • Virtualization experience required
  • Basic shell and Perl scripting required
  • Practical knowledge of networking concepts required
  • Understanding of security concepts and best practices required
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Willingness to learn new technologies to support company growth required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MSSQL and MySQL administration experience
  • UNIX/Linux Administration TCP/IP networks
  • Advanced scripting experience, in Perl, PowerShell, or UNIX shells
  • Advanced hardware and server operating system knowledge (HP UNIX, Redhat, Windows 2000 Server & XP, Novell 6.x, Citrix etc.),
  • Advanced server OS knowledge (ADS, LDAP administration skills) Working knowledge of DNS and DHCP. Working knowledge of at least 5 of the OSI layers and LAN/WAN Technologies/skills.
